Then to provoke the situation, then to get out and turn his back on the man (very serious tactical error) In all honestry the poster's entire story is filled with things he did WRONG. Till, at the very end he walks away, basically drumming up a situation and then backing down. I am not impressed.
No offense to the origional poster.
    Good points.

But the point is not to impress anyone. He was just making an account of something that happened and was venting.

Well ahoym8, what is your response?

        My response:

Throwing my waterbottle at his car was stupid. not only for the reasons Cyclops or whoever stated, but also because I now need to get a new water bottle.

I feel more foolish than anything about the incident now. I guess I was still subconciously worked up about it when I posted.

However in the end it was a decent balance between my other two historic responses, which were a) do something even dumber and expose myself to death, injury or legal problems, or b) (most common) shrink form the action after getting mad and then being disgusted with myself for 3 weeks for being such a pussy.

Everyone in the thread is correct: I need to work on the front end of all this, and avoid the situation alltogether. Others might call it bad temper; I call it rapid and vigorous sense of self-rightousness. I feel that offensive behavior should be punished; I just need to believe more wholeheartedly that the "punishment" isn't up to me, as personally satisfying as that can sometimes be...

Hey man, we all have/had situations where we lose control.
It is our emotions that make us human.

Well, that and having opposable thumbs, and walking upright and a few other details... Oh yeah, rationality. Some people even say humans have that, but I dunno

Just bringing in a little light on the subject of demotions and confrontations. Was not getting into the extremity of body parts.
