i have a friend that can do that stuff. granted he is ranked No. 1 nationally in amateur gymnastics, but he could do some of that. that was a cool clip, when you get rid of the 90's dance music.

my friend wants to start doing MT but there isn't a place in our town that offers it right now. until then i think i'm gonna take him to a Capoeria seminar. and i'll admit he is a pussy, but he could do the flips and all of those weird kart-wheels or whatever they're called.

Yeah, but in a gunfight with SWAT cops, an MMA guy would lose too. What is this need some people have to always demean what others do because it's not the same style they choose to do? I'd like to see any of your MMA training partners beat that guy in a gymnastics floor exercise competition...

Excellent post Mike. I was wondering where the topic of mma being able to beat up gymnasts came from. Maybe because he was creditied with being a "ninja"?

i go on ogrish alot to see war footage and didnt see that video and just looked for it and its not there

Its actually capoeria, a brazilian art. From what I know of it,(which isnt much) it was developed in penal colonies, by the inmates because they couldn't practice anything that looked like a martial art. So they made it look more dancelike in quality.

Not sure if that is the truth you can look it up if you want. The guy in the video is Joe Eigo (sp?) He lives in newmarket ontario. Most of that vid is at ryerson university in Toronto.
