  • Training in the snow???

    Hello guys!

Does anybody ever trained in the snow?
I jogged this morning in the snow for half an hour.
It feels like 2 hours of normal running.

Come on out to Chicago, Duchman.

You get to walk, jog, run, drive, shovel and stumble through the f***ing snow everywhere you turn, if you haven't already died of arctic exposure or been brained by a falling chunk of ice from a high-rise.

    Trust me--it's a workout.

Yea, it is definitely tough. I'm in Iowa right now and just got stuck in the snow. I had to run home. The cold air sure does burn the lungs!!

I heard Rickson and Rolls did this many times in Brazil to build up their stamina and breathing.

Right now I've got the suckass prize of straining in the snow: a sore throat and nasal congestion. I really hate Indiana!

Living in a cold climate does justify gi work though. For I'm guessing about four months out of the year I'm wearing a heavy coat and another four months in some kind of jacket. Have you ever tried grappling in a hoody (sweatshirt)? It's not too much different than a gi.

                ???

I cannot rationalize being in the arctic cold, when it is within your power to escape it.

Call me Redneck; I cannot dig on that.

It's 37 in Houston; the 3rd coldest month on written record here........I'm barely able to cope!!!

That's completely insane to me.........and not a lot of things are; cannot handle the cold.

                    More power to you!

                          environmental training

Training in the snow is great for as long as you can endure it. Where I live we don't get much.

Try fighting in a pouring rain storm some time. That's a pretty good workout too because you'll find that you can't BREATHE!!!
