  • Jeff Blatnick.....Aroused!!!

Its horrible how much Blatnick gets off on being around other wrestlers. I just saw Ultimate Brazil and the sight of jeff in those tight ass shorts getting all wet with Frank Shamrock is some truly disturbing stuff. You can tell Blatnick's loving every minute of his 'missionary' with Frank.

"now do it to this arm and bring me down"

    Pervert!

I like Blatnick too but he's still gay for wrestlers.

        Blatnick IS a wrestler

I like Blatnick. He's a smart guy, he CAN talk (HE never says "Artial Martist").

I don't fault him for liking wrestlers, after all he spent a large part of his life wrestling.

He's an alright guy and does deserve a LITTLE respect.

I have only seen UFCs 1-20. In those, I agree that most of his intelligent comments are about wrestling, rather than say, striking or submissions. But then his training is exclusively in wrestling, so no surprise.

I guess his biggest blooper was his comment on Royce's triangle on Severn: something like "There's nothing there" just moments before Severn taps.

Of all the announcers, he's the only one I really like. Next to Jim Brown, Blatnick looks like a genius.

All hail the BEST commentator in the business.
The one and only John Peretti.

"hey he switched it, that was sexy"

Tank Abbott was the best commentator. Every other word that came out of his mouth was an insult! Its funny when Blatnick messes up. Like at the start of UFC 6 when it takes him a few attempts to bolt the Octagon gate, or at the start of UFC 10 when after Bruce Beck hands over to him he says, all pissed off: "Are you talking to me? I can't hear you" before looking shocked and saying what he was supposed to when he realises he's on the air. Also in UFC 10, just after we see Coleman autographing fans stuff at the end of the event, has anyone noticed Blatnick suddenly hiding something under the broadcast table and then he and Dan Severn looking as guilty as sin? I don't know what it was but he sure as hell didn't want anyone to find out.

                    Jim Brown was the man!

I seriously liked his style announcing for the Ufc's.

Notice how the UFC' have struggled since UFC IV and that was Jim Brown's last show?

                    I don't think it's a coincidence...........

I liked Jim Brown's style too. It was as though he was just a spectator the way he'd only occasionally say something, but when he did it was always slick. He might not have been a former martial artist or anything but he always respected 'technique' and for that you can't fault the cat. He always brought a nice new hat with him too. Dressed to impress.
What happened to Jim anyway? And what became of Bruce Beck?

You guys ever notice by the end of the UFC Blatnick is usually down to his t-shirt. He always starts off in a suit then seems to start sweatin bullets for the next hour or so. Ever fight he seems to lose a piece of clothing...sometimes he gets the guard and the mount mixed up to which is very annoying. He is pretty good overall though. The best was when Jim Brown tore a strip off the other announcer when he was getting negative on Royce one fight, Jim says "and don't you ever say anything about a Gracie like that again". Something to that effect...but it was funny as hell. And he was really mad.

You can't have a guy as big as Blatnick sit one place for three hours and not expect him to melt. When he gets up for post fight interviews they probably have to peel his chair off of him!
Jim always handled himself well, after all it was 'his sport'. No one screwed with Jim. Even when he was wrong he was right. Bruce Beck always tried to kiss his ass at some point in every event but that just seemed to disgust the big man.
I remember that scolding Jim gave at UFC IV, it was to none other than our good friend Blatnick. Jeff had spent the whole fight saying Royce couldn't beat a wrestler like severn and you could tell Jim was getting pissed, so when Gracie eventually won he couldn't help but put Blatnick straight. I wouldn't have been surprised if Jim was carrying a piece that night, or at the very least some sort of blade.

he should have started shooting in the air in celebration when severn tapped !

i thought there was on later ufc that jim brown was saying that we probably shouldn't see royce fighting in this type of event anymore. i remember it because it sounded wierd coming from such a royce fanatic. it was maybe after the superfight with shamrock?

Jim Brown was an interesting commentator: definitely a Royce Gracie bandwagoner, but also something of a pest when it came to Jeff Blatnick. For instance, Gracie's win over Severn inspired Jim's series of taunts directed at the previously smug Blatnick. "Talk to me!" "Don't you EVER say that about a 'rassler!" "What a champion!".

Most of the time, however, Jim Brown was more than a little bland. His "pretty boy" remarks in the UFC IV exhibition match (Mezger vs. Fairn) were pretty funny, though.

Brown's constant ramblings about "fatigue" were pretty redundant too.
