wrestling is a decent supliment for BJJ isn't it? as long as you don't get used to wining by the pin. Do you agree that it teaches valid lessons in balance, momentum, technique, ect....?

How else do you want to win except fror a pin (technical fall decision penalty). Wrestling is a sport with the objective to pin your opponent. yes you can "learn" wrestling moves to aide with BJJ but you are not a wrestler. just as one can puch a bag and learn a upper cut or hook doesn't make them a boxer. But yes balance, stamina, mental toughness, strength are attributes of goodwrestlers

Originally posted by danfaggellayeah cuz i plan to do wrestling with friends to keep my physical atributes up, and hopefully become a better grappler by and by.
I hope you are talking about joining a team or club, 'cause goofin' around with your buddies in the back yard is not going to net you the benefits you seem to be looking for.

alot of disrespectable judo coaches just have their students train pretty much just single and double legs from wrestling. i remember going to competitions and people would just go for double legs again and again. it was the weakest thing ever. our coach told us to knee them in the face.
