    http://www.wingtsun.nl/chal-grc.htm

That was hysterical. It was written in 1994, what a joke those idiots were. They had no idea who they were writing to. Demanding a Gracie to fight LOL they would have gotten Renzo, rickson, royce &hell, maybe the old fella Helio would came out for some ass kicking LOL. In the UFC 4 I think it was, or 5 or 7, the one with Marco Ruas, the announcer at the time said "Marco Ruas is a Vale Tudo fighter, in 30 years of martial arts Ive never heard of such a thing". Jesus Christ, what a rude awakening these guys were in for, wonder if those are the fights we see on the Gracies on Action DVDs with the karate guys getting owned.. those old fights in brazil were great also, with the karate team demanding to fight on tile floors because they were so confident they couldnt get taken down and then getting SLAMMED !

        He ran like a girl

After seeing his 'cool' ads in grappling magazine (he advertises 'anti-grappling tee hee), I looked him up. I seem to remember that he challenged a number of Gracies & MMA's, and made excuses when they accepted his offer.

Apparently Bas Rutten even went to find him & accepted his offer face to face. Emin then explained that there must've been a mis-understanding & offered to take him for a coffee instead.

IMHO The guy's a fake, but if you don't believe me, check out www.bullshido.net - I think there's some discussion about him.

Yeah losing to a guy that fights in flaming-faggot-knee-high-pink-latex boots would be quite humilating, I agree. Loved it when Ken knee-barred that homo: http://hem.passagen.se/junai/pics/KenDefRutten_SUB.jpg

Bas is a little of the queer side, doesn't change the fact that he hasn't lost a fight since 1995 and that he's 27-4. Call him a fag if you want oh yee mighty keyboard warrior, fag or not he'd still whoop ur ass. And if he really is gay, like you say, he'd prob butt hump you too untill you cried and called him daddy. Then slap the hell outta you one more time for fun. Those boots may be gay, but I'd place money those gay boots would kick you right in the teeth.

I think most of us know that noone is unbeatable including the gracies, but they are probably one of the hardest opponents you could face. And the thing is, is that the guy challenges them and then pussies out

Yeah! These americans just aren't as open minded as us europeans

Regarding the Gracies, I don't want to get into that old "they're great, no they're not" debate as it's been done a thousand times. But IMHO they're responsible for starting the last evolution of the MA (the last twelve years or so). They started the UFC (with less rules than now), they used it to demonstrate the capabilities of their family and their art, and they brought their art out of brazil, and into the mainstream. Love it or hate it, BJJ is currently the fastest growing MA in the world. And it's down to the Gracie family.

They're not afraid of giving away 'black belt secrets' - the classes I've attended are an open book, unlike the traditional martial arts I used to do where it was a case of don't ask questions etc. etc. And in terms of their ability, history speaks for itself (and the video evidence). Yes, there isn't an undefeated Gracie currently fighting, but when there was (Rickson), he openly challenged and beat the best all over the world. Today I think it'd be more difficult for him, both because of his age, and because of the fact that the challengers would be more complete fighters nowadays (with a full MMA arsenal of BJJ/MT/boxing)... Which is because of the MA revolution his family started.

                          Are they infallible? No.
                          Are they undefeated? No.
Is their art a complete one? No (a striking art needs to be added)
Am I biased towards my art? You bet.

...But I think the gracies deserve our respect for their accomplishments, and there's not another family around today that has had such an impact on todays martial arts. This is my opinion, and I don't want to start a silly debate because everyone loves their art and will rightly be biased towards it. I fully recognise the abilities of todays all round MMA's, as well as the positive attributes of traditional martial arts.

Phew! Ummm.... What was the question again?

"But so as to educate you Gracies to respect the others, my students I hereby turn the tables on you by challenging all you people of the Gracie-Family." He says that even though he said "After having watched your "Ultimate Fighting Championships" held by the Gracie-Family, I cannot find them very "ultimate" but only amusing. These so-called "ultimate fights' may impress laymen or beginners, but in fact they are no more real than the professional Wrestling shows on TV."

This guy has mood swings and he is so cocky !!!

And "We do not mind fighting you people in the ring set up by your own organization. The only thing that we want is to fight openly, so all the audience, reporters, TV-people and martial artists can see if you can really fight against us."

Yet he didn't want to fight in the UFC. ><
