HEY! ....YOU!..... GET ON THE BENCH!.... YOU NEED MORE PRACTICE!....

start moping mutha fuka....cuz it sounds to me thats about all your gunna be good at.

(by the way, the mother of all moves is not the cross face IPON, it's coming through the crotch. Like ball and chains, or just plain takin a handfull of nuts to assist in a throw or breakdown....not a move I ever did, but I've seen it used many, many times. My dad does it in a fireman's carry, instead of using his elbow joint, he just takes a handfull of nutz. My 69 year old dad threw my 215 lb friend Keith like that, AND my dad has had 5 leg opperations and can barely walk let alone run or wrestle.)

As I said, I train hard in practice, and I've always given 100% on the mat. I work harder off the mat than anyone I know on the team. First your insulting me for not "cheating", now its for not doing what I obviously am emphisiving the most, practice, and LEARNING skills.

I don't know how cheating is something to be proud of. Please elaborate eyegouge, jubaji or whoever thinks so. In a self defense situation, I can understand 100% if you hit someone in the nuts, eyegouge him, bite him or do whatever it takes to stop the attacker. But in the ring where people are there to compete with rules why the hell would you cheat?

I thought that was a fair question guys....Blitz is young, he is trying to understand...he doesnt have the depth of your experience to draw on, be fair try and explain it to him...

To win. lol, dude...ever see the smashing machine? great movie, love where he talks about how he used to get in trouble for chinning people's eye sockets.....I dunno, yeah, most cheating moves are for chicken shits, but streching the rules, streching the moves that are legal to the point where you have a slight advantage but are still acting within the rules. That's what I'm talking about.

^ I don't necissarily have any real problem with that kinda stuff most of the time.

I mean, using the knee in the ribs or something, I usually don;t like because it is flagrant extra violence and if a ref saw it he would usually call the guy, but some things are really not against the rules and are agressive, and we all have to deal with and use such things in wrestling.

now you're thinkin....a wrestling match is a fight. Fights are violent. It's a fight under certain guidelines. But a fight. So who wins fights? the timid guy or the agressive guy?....keep doin that thinkin....i'm sure jub and I are real close to getting you to see the connect the dots logic.

                    ""winning is nice"?!

That's like me saying that having $100 Million dollars is nice. Guess what?"

"I'm thinking of a word that rhymes with "hooser"."

"I'm thinking of a word that rhymes with "Pooser"."

"Well, that's ok. You could be the team laundry-boy, or clean the mats before practice or something. Could learn a lot along the way."

                    "................................... "

I'm sorry where is the logic exactly in any of those comments? Those were all said by jubaji btw.

I know jubaji knows alot about wrestling, I asked him about it in a pm and he answered me satisfying answers but where is the "connect the dots logic" in that.

                    • My first post, so here goes

Having 15 years of Freestyle wrestling under my belt and no MA experience whatsoever I cannot say one way or another if one is better than wrestling. the point must be made as to the goal of the person. Is it a street fight? A MMA Event? etc. This thread has shown me that it is the general consensus of the group that if you wrestle, you have no idea how to submit someone or you don't know how to strike. Thats stupid as hell. I know how to submit people, I know how to manipulate joints, I know how to break bones, and I know how to throw a punch. My discipline is freestyle wrestling, but you pick shit up along the way. You fight people who present many different ways to beat them. In wrestling competitions I can't choke out my opponent, In a fight I can. This does not mean I don't know how to do it, because applying a RNC is quite simple and does not take years of study. you give me your back in a fight and I'll choke you out, Give me your back in a match and I'll chickenwing or half nelson you to your back and pin you.

Could I benefit from Muay Thai? BJJ? Judo? Others? Absofuckinglutley....more skills at your disposal > less skills. But lets not assume wrestlers at somehow at a disadvantage because they don't train other disciplines.

                      • also being a fellow wrestler doing both freestyle and amature, your no push over. if someone gets me down and tries to choke me im gonna use common sense and do the same to them, poke them in the eye. its not hard to figure out what hurts and what dosnt. if i bend your arm in an akward position its gonna hurt, you dont need to practice what you already know, so to say either of the two is better is impossible but to say wrestling isnt as good is dumb. myself i would like to do judo, why because i would have an advantage, if i were to pick either it would be wrestling, why? because you cant be a little girl. how many times have you seen a little fat kid in a gi, plenty. how many times have you seen that same fat kid beat the crap out of someone. never. martial arts dosnt teach you intensity, just respect. and you cant respect someone whos gunna kick your arse

Except for 15 years of Freestyle wrestling.
