look for the ones with Koong Sao in the title. there the competition clips.
quite full on too. check out the second from the top (the new one). there ground game sucks but they go hard with the chain punching.
FINALLY a chance so see WC being used. you can always count on those crazy Europeans
Only thing that looked like wing chun was the stance. They missed a lot of opportunities for sweeps instead they went for the hip throws. Entertaining little clip.
I've seen better stand up and traping from my 55 year old mom. lol. it's just apeshit punching with basic JJ. I've seen people with no training hit harder. What did those guys weigh? 130 lbs? You gotta be kidding me. One of these days when I can afford a video camera that has a port to upload onto my comp, I'll post up some much better shit. Keep it coming though, I like these clips.
those guys thai skills were decent, the knees one of em threw were pretty tough. Enjoyed that.
glad you enjoyed the clips guys. i've really been trying to find wing tsun sparring clips but its so damn hard compared to muay thai, bjj etc.
i have heard of these wt tornaments but only found those clips recently. apparently theres some guy in europe that is having success in vale tudo style matches using wing tsun but i cant find a clip.
anybody got some others? there not pretty but, look, in my opinion if you spar with that level of contact and that level of freedom from restrictions then it can only improve your self defence ability.
What the heck?! Is WC trying to be MT, BJJ, wrestling and Judo all at once now?! There was barely any WC to speak of. See, that's the thing with these "traditional" arts... They drill and teach you all this "stuff" and when their guys finally go at it, it looks like apeshit. In contrast, boxing, MT, Judo, BJJ and other more effective arts use the same techniques that are drilled.
Personally, I woudn't subscribe to this gym or type of training. At one point, one guy had the other guy mounted and continued to rain down punches. The referee, who I assume is an instructor, made no attempt to stop the fight... Full contact sparring needs to stop the moment someone is in danger of permanent injury. Also, I think the guys in the video have little or no technique and the training is only enhancing poor technique.
I saw no ground game at all,. once it hit the ground, the fight was over. there was one heel hook I saw though. i think i would kill anyone of those guys in the vid with ease, one could only hope to face one of them in a street fight. i could take 2 or 3 of them at once
Personally, I enjoyed this clip because it's good to see wc people finally get out of the chi-sau, fist over fist drills, and one step sparring to actually bring it to the ring. Just like the UFC, the tournaments will steadily improve. In addtion, masters like augustine fong, are combining wc with styles like mt and bjj to make their students into complete fighters. I wish them all the best!
yeah but did they actually use any wing tsun principles?? I saw them using the wing tsun stance at one point, but that was before they were close enough to even kick. When they got close I saw no recemblence to wing tsun any more.
