  • If You Could Design the Perfect Warrior

    Hey guys,

I thought about making this thread today due to the topic of our conversation: martial arts. Martial being related to war. So our primary goal, as martial artists, is actually preparing for battle.

So, with your knowledge and preferences in mind, if you could design the perfect warrior how would you train him for hand to hand/weapons (aside from guns), and in what?

We have to define warrior broadly I suppose, but we should go with two types of warriors which require distinctly different skills. First, the assassin, and second, the average battlefield soldier.

This is all contemporary keep in mind. I hope this becomes a good discussion!

A wolfman(fangs, claws, pure muscle) will handle both jobs nicely.

Arlovski would be a good start, with some weapons in hand

assassins, and the average battlefield soldier? I thought this was the MMA forum? If you are actually asking about warriors, then it belongs in military tactics...if this is just fantasy you probably put it in the right place.

I'd have to say, the assasian, trained in all the blade arts, including throwing. (accepting that he's already an expert in supressed small arms fire) ninjitsu of course as well and allot of pressure point and lethal striking i.e. being able to stab right in the heart and lung at the same time. He'd have to have non messy silent killing techs.

Our battlefield solider...hmmm.....assuming he's already an expert in long range, short range, AND balistic weapons. Blade arts again, because what solider DOESN'T carry around knives along with their guns? If he looses his blade we need to train him in a style that has good open handed knife defense...um, krav maga? let's see....our solider also needs to be able to do the steven sagal, or resident evil chick, walk up neck break. Then. Lots of lightweight cutting edge body armor, camo (ie that fiberoptic preadator movie shit) and lots of ammo.
