It sounds like you train exactly like we do at my club. I think no-gi training is best and I also encourage my guys not to use the guard unless they have to because being on top is so superior. I also think "sport" training translates better to streetfighting than anything else (unless you are talking about weapons).

Obviously people are going to end up in the guard sooner or later. If my previous post sounded like I disputed this fact it is not what I meant. It is easier to avoid the guard when fighting an inexperienced guy. When fighting a fighter, there is a good chance of ending up there, and bjj fighters excel from this position.

Really so about half the guys in ADCC are morons then...people jump to guard all the time...successfull or not it happens all the time.In MMA that is not good at all but in NO-GI depending on the rules its ok.

Actually you said match...not fight...there is a difference.BJJ guys have matches MMA guys have fights.Going into a FIGHT and wanting to be on your back is a no no...in BJJ people do it all the time...ever hear of Eddie Bravo....Leo Vierra...Jorge Gurgel....among many many others.I do agree that sometimes people fight for the top and sometimes they dont....it depends all on your wrestling skills.Maybe i should recomend an english teacher for you instead buddy.

i agree that there is no way to avoid the guard and you will end up on your back.Im just saying you should Strive to be on top...because as you know you can put your weight on your opponent and tire him out.Damn bro stop being so hostile..someone says something about BJJ and you fly off the handle..get over it man.

WOW! that is some leap. I agree that you should have just told me to f*ck off as it would have made far more sense and not exposed you as an idiot.
