        Good Points All of you.

        But seriously.
I never said UFC sucks. Its just that a boxing match is a boxing match. Viewers know what they pay for, and fighters know what they train for.
I know for a fact that if "Strikers" were alowed to unload on UFC fights then "Takedown" guys would have to change there game completely.
        Thats all,
        Thanks for the many replies!
        This is fun.

You don't know squat "for a fact" as this is obvious speculation on your part.

            Sorry for that,
            just specilation.
I do know what I saw in Highschool though. Also in training.
Thats why there are the rules to protect the fighters!
Thanks again for putting me in my place!

I don't know how you people compare arts. It is like being a doctor is better than a Lawyer. You ask the doctor he is going to say a doctor. You ask a lawyer and he is going to say a lawyer. It is true that a boxer won't stand much of a chance against a UFC champ but does that make the UFC better? People will compare in different ways. Boxing makes more money than UFC. People like it better just face the fact. I love both and do boxing and other martial arts. I won't argue for one or the other because that is up to you. Anyways UFC fighters learn boxing also. If it sucked then why would they learn it. People say I would be a UFC fighter in a street fight than other martial art fighter. Well that is up to you. I would rather be in the army if I have a gun. I would rather be a weapon fighter if I have a weapon with me. I know people that can throw a knife faster than you can blink. In those cases a UFC fighter has little chance to win or come out on top. Yes in a hand to hand combat fight I would be a UFC fighter. What is better well that is up to you.

                Boxing vs. MMA - Ninjaiboy

Boxing has been an established combat sport in the western world for atleast 200 years, whereas free fighting has been more of an exhibition event - a side show at other events. That doesn't take away from the participants in MMA though.

The fact that boxing is more established and popular makes it easier to sell seats and get spoonsors, bringing in the big pay.

MMA is the combat sport that applies all ranges of fighting (excluding weapons) as safely as possible. There have to be some rules otherwise fighters would get disabled or die and have no source of income. That's why there are also rules in boxing (no kicks, knees, elbows, headbutt, excessive clinching). These rules also ensure that the winner of the match is the fighter who hits the hardest or lands more consistantly and can also return for another bout.

I enjoy and respect boxing as much as yourself. Its more established compared to MMA, but MMA is a different animal.

But if you did, you think if i stamped on the back of your neck with full force (with in my case is a lot) it wouldn't cripple you? Don't be stupid, you can attack pressure points in other ways than stabbing at it with your thumb you know.

If you stomped on the back of someones neck?

What are you fucking retarded... if you stomp on any part of someones body with full force.. assuming your at least the size of the average male its gonna break, that doesnt prove its a pressure point...

"If I stomp on your hand as hard as I can .. it will break"

                    instant pressure point..

If I stomp on your elbow as hard as I can.. it will break"

                    instant pressure point..

If I stomp on your nose as hard as I can.. it will break"

If I stomp on your.... you get the picture...

I also pose the question to the thread starter about how he thinks a striker being able to "unload"... on a wrestler is gonna start winning them more fights..
strikers can unload at any one time.. theres no rule that says you can only punch 5 times every ten seconds...

unloading is repeatedly striking as hard and fast as you can...

also you say if the strikers had the ability to eblow the spine and neck it would increase there chances.. if anything it would decrease them...

how is the striker going to benefit when the wrestler can take them down and choose the position they want to go in.. you mentioned "the shot" as a takedown.. double leg, single... w/e... what about an upper body wrestler who throws in under hooks, trips you, and is on top elbowing YOUR spine...

the strikers wouldnt have a chance to utilize this tool for the most part...

can someone clarify what a "downwards elbow" is??...because I love using elbows..and I've definitley seen elbows going in the downwards general direction in the UFC...so I'm confused.

and what about an elbow shot straight out, from say a standing position, then you thrust it out like a pointed dagger...for example...?

yeah no downward elbows would be a huge disadvantage for tall people.

I do like vanilla the most with toppings like cherries, granola, ect. Chocolate just seems to dominate the toppings too much.

Oh well, obviously if your going to use toppings then that changes the whole thing. Strawberry with hot fudge topping even beats a double scoop of chocolate.
