Of course watch what happens when the guy tries to clinch.

What do you mean "looking like" you? Is it you or not?

Hey, I just called. They said you are full of shit. Oh, sorry I can't document it or prove it in any way. But I guess you don't need that kind of thing.

As well boxers also have good evasion techniques so that could help them keep away from the wrestler in a fight
Well, that makes no sense. Go find a wrestler of many years experience who hasn't been punched many times. And you claim that a boxer will have no problem not being taken down? Hello?

            • Sorry to correct you again, but yes there is.
I tried out for UFC in Vegas 2002.
In the interview they said practioners of Iron Palm practice were not allowed to compete.
Maybe its not official, but why dont you give em a call. Just pretend your a master, and see if you even make it past the prelimanary interview.

              Damn Fool
I believe they turned you down not because they are afraid you'll killsomeone with your iron palm but because they actually want the fights to be pretty close and entertaining to watch. An iron palm practitioner would've been ripped apart in about 20 seconds meaning customers don't get the bang for their buck.

                      • I have to agree that grappling is a critical component of any MA toolbox, as should be the ability to wrestle, throw and strike. Without any one of those skills you are forced to over rely on another, that can cause you to spend 13 minutes in a buttscoot mode across the ring...if striking and throws aint dangerous why did royler resort to the butt scoot?

                        • I personally love the UFC. For one, these guys are actually fighting. Also, there's none of that drama and reality junk the WWE has. You all may find grappling boring, but I find it very interesting. Maybe you guys should try it sometime, then you can give the UFC some respect.

You ALMOST sounded like a bright and knowledgeable MMA expert., till you had to bring up Royler yet again.
Here's a good question: Since the Gracies totally dominated MMA for years on end, including RIcksons dominance in PRide, forget about who he faught, the GRacies still owned MMA, and UFC, and we've already documented the influence on the sport, which knows no bounds.
SO since GJJ was so dominant during the early UFCs, the first 10 at least, if you include Marco Ruas, WHy would Royler have ever bothered to "rely on another" skill to learn? GJJ totally owned ALL OTHER martial arts. What else was there to learn when GJJ was unstoppable 95% of the time? Royler is older, not as well rounded and sometimes he gets caught or sits on his ass wishing someone would step into his guard. Why is he the measure of GJJ?
One thing we can all agree upon, grappling is essential, as is all other aspects of a MMA fight., forget one, and the other guy will capatilize on that weakness.

i wouldnt say luke got his ass kicked, or schooled. the entire season all we heard about was how good joe was on the ground and if he gets u there you are done. yet, as we all saw in joe vs luke, joe wasnt able to finish luke on the ground and luke isnt even that good of a grappler. he was able to get out of everything joe tried, and almost knocked his ass out in the process. after joe took that shot to the face that sent him crashing to the floor, he did everything in his power to avoid standing with luke and keep the fight on the ground and still couldnt finish him, it went to decision. i wasnt impressed with joe at all, but luke who was picked last and was favored least ended up being one of the best fighters on the show and his fights were always fun to watch.

thats probobly cause they already had enough people to help set up the octagon before shows and sell snacks to the fans.
