    gracie vs. hughes

in all honesty matt hughes is most likely going to dominate gracie. The only thing that gracie might have going for him is that he is a master of bjj. and even then bjj is still only a partial art (focusing on only 1 or 2 aspects of fighting). if you have seen gracie's second fight with ken shamrock he just couldn't hang with a bigger, stronger fighter who blends submission with striking. And Ken wasn't even that good at it at the time. i believe that the only reason royce took this fight is to get the gracie name a profitable tool again. because he has nothing to prove on the mat anymore. oh and by the way dan severne is no where near the caliber of fighter that matt hughes is. it will definitely be intresting.

I'll cheer if Royce wins, but I have to face reality and go with Hughes. Like others have said, since Hughes got that little wake up call from BJ, his submission game has improved greatly. I think we could see a long boring fight with Hughes taking Royce down, Royce pulling guard and a stalemate ensueing from Hughes not wanting to commit to any guard passes or power strikes, and Royce being unable to submit him. Hughes on points.

Bingo you hit it right on the head.Royce will NOT be wearing a GI by the way its against the UFC's rules. The only way royce can win fights these days is by his special rules.Wearing his gi....no time limits or if it goes to a dec its a draw blah blah blah.....he dose all that shit because he knows hes going to get wrecked and he can stall in his guard up till the draw. This fight dose not even interest me in the least bit.

Well lets see it might be interesting. Its either going to be a fight that deserves a fast forward or a detailed watch. What I'm saying is its either going to be very interesting or very boring. But lets wait and see

            1. How will he dominate someone that will totally own him on the ground? ROyce is 10 times the grappler that Hughes could ever even dream of being (yes, we saw what happened when Penn, a REAL black belt tossed hughes around like a white belt).
            2. "he just couldn't hang with a bigger, stronger fighter who blends submission with striking." Interesting, Ken was around 225 when they faught last, and Severn was 265, Royce was 178lb during both those fights.

Advantage Royce in this fight. Striking= I give it to Royce, who can stand with the best of them, Grappling =Royce by a looooooooooong ways, Hughes is not that good on the ground, he's way overrated.
Whats left? Take downs, even at best.
The only way Hughes has any chance is if he somehows falls on top of Royce and for some reason Royce cant get out, which he will, but say he's trapped agaisnt the cage, and Hughes GNPs him. Thats it, the only way. He cannot submit Royce, he cant KO him, what can he do?
I wonder what the current odds are on this fight, Im going to bet the house on Royce if theyre good.
I was 100% correct on the Diaz-Sanchez fight, dont forget. And Im right on this one, thats why I make the big bucks

Typical talk from the BJ and Gracie nuthugger.Royce cant stand up with anyone...nevermind the best....wtf are you watching man.Royce is the biggest staller this sport has ever seen.....it took him over 15 mins to submit a wrestler who knew jack shit about the guard and its submissions. You obviously have not seen Hughes fights where he has beat the shit out of many BJJ black belts who would wipe the floor with Royce....just like wallid ishamel did.Royce's takedown defence is Horrible at best....Matt will take his ass apart on stand up and royce will have to play his game because he will never take Matt down....and Matt can slam him on his back at any moment he chooses. He will put Royce up against the fence and gnp his ass....and royce will stall as usuall and Matt will either win by a TKO or a decision....most likely the latter.Thank you Royce for introducing me to Jits.....but shame on you for outliving your stay.

Yep Im a nuthugger for the most dominant martial art ever in MMA. Royce traded with Shamrock standing up with no problem.
It doesnt really matter your opinion however, if youre so fucking smart and sure of yourself, go take whatever pittance you can scrape up or shake from the couch cushions, and bet it on that awesome Matt "I got totally owned by BJ Penn" Hughes.
I back my opinions with money, least when Im in Vegas 10 times a year.
Hughes could win by GNP, but I doubt it, HE'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH !

UHH dude go back and watch that fight.....there was no "trading" and even if there was Ken is not a good striker......and ken hit him with one punch that made Royce's eye look like a purple and read balloon....and then he did what he dose best....STALL TILL THE TIME LIMIT EXPIRES AND GETS A DRAW.This whole BJ owned Matt thing you keep brining up is such a BS excuse...Matt didnt even get tossed around or taken down....he was going for a takedown....messed it up and BJ grabbed his ankle and took him down.He was then takin to school while he was on his back....what do you expect. If he was on top he would of beat bj down.Since your on Royce's Nuts so bad...why dont we make a little wager. If royce wins ill never post on this forum again under any name....but if Matt wins then you can never post again under any name. What do ya say big shot.

I'll make the deal, but only if one loses by submission or KO, not decision. If its the normal 5 minute rounds, it MAY go the distance, and it could be a decision one way or the other. See, when Royce wins, its by submission, Hughes will stumble onto a positon and stall and throw "scoring love tap punches" to gain points.
Better yet, if I win, you can stay on and post on here as long as you call me "masta" and give Boarspear a blow job.

How can you give the advantage of striking to Royce?
He dosen't know jackshit about striking. However, I'll give the ground game to Royce BUT I think Hughes will win on standup. Or a good punch will lead to the win on the ground.

Dude, how many times do i have to tell you, I am a Taiji guy, its much different that your style....we avoid mounting other men, big naked humps with men, and rear naked anything with men...in short unlike your style where giving your clasmates a bj is normal, their is no BJ in taiji. somehow i suspect its the north and south position and the initials bj that keep you such a fan of gjj/bjj
