If the Hapkido man studied boxing(for example) or trained mostly to punch an opponents face, he could have really HURT Rorian since he barely had his hands up. But the truth is that in a Striking vs. Grappling scenario, the grappler usually wins(but can suffer damage from strikes). We have all established that GJJ can kick all MA butts in Dojo(or Doyho) challenge matches, but a college wrestler(using strikes and/or applying a lot of pressure from mount) would have done the same to any of those Hapkido or Kung Fu masters because they had little or no grappling experiance and instruction.
But aside from that, is it possible to choke someone out with both of your legs squeezing around your opponents neck? I really think it is, atleast it might roll them over into an inferior position and make them really uncomfortable.
