Think about it!!!!!!Royler was stopped with an armlock and Renzo had his arm broken!!!Sak took out Royce with his stand-up game.People say that Royce is practicing a outdated style of BJJ but it looks like it is better for NHB than the newer sport-jiu-jitsu stuff.Even though he didnt have much success grappling with Sak he didnt get dominated or even punished by Sak on the ground.Sak never had the knee-bar so thats out of the question.


Royce might have even tapped Sak with that choke!!!

I disagree. Renzo is better in nhb. Sak did absolutely nothing to Renzo. Renzo out fought him on his feet. On the ground none of Sak's jumps, cartwheels, etc could penetrate Renzo's guard. Sak never struck Renzo on the ground either.

In the Royce fight he jumped on Royce's head. He jumped over his legs and punched Royce in the face. In Royce's guard he was able to strike him in the face several times.

Sak said Renzo was by far the best of the three Gracie's he fought. I think his opinion holds a little more weight than any of ours.

Also, yeah right! Maybe Royler but to me no one is better than Renzo that is a Gracie. I think Royce is just loved too much. To me Royce is a great BJJer but not a great fighter. He doesn't have that fighting instinct and if you say he dominated all the UFCs then your basically an idiot because no one back then knew how to defend against BJJ. Personally I think you'll lose EVERY time if you have no clue what BJJ is and if its someone as talented as Royce; then of course Severn, Shamrock and all the tomatoes he beat were going to lose...

Renzo tried to win and got caught with an arm lock, Royce got molested in front of the entire Martial Arts world and looked stupid in the process.

All the Rickson and Royce worship needs to stop NOW!

Martial Artist - Royce Gracie does not superior grappling skills, like his bro and cousin, he couldn't tap sak! Royce Gracie's defense against submission might have been better, but dont forget they all know the same techniques, (in fact renzo and royler probably know more b/c of sports competition) and the sak submissions were more likely due to a mental error than inferior technical knowledge or skills.

Royce put up the best fight, in the sense that it took Sak a LOOONNNNNNNG time to wear him down.

I give Royce big props, even though he got beat.

Actually, they all showed a lot of heart, and deserve more respect than they typically get.

Saying that Royce was totally trashed by Sak doesnt actually say much at all.SO DID RENZO AND ROYLER!!!!!!!!Just Royce lasted ALOT longer than both of them.Beat by Wallid?So did Renzo and Ralph.And the same would happend to Royler.He couldn't do anything against Takada?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?The judges wouldnt have given him the win if they didnt think he won the fight.

How did Renzo get trashed by Sakuraba? Renzo hung the whole way until he got caught in the arm lock late in the end. Sakuraba trashed Royler and Royce for a very long time each in the matches. Royce got humiliated, did Renzo? The only funny thing Sak did against Renzo was grabbing his legs and run around in circles. The cartwheel wasn't emberassing at all because it didn't do anything. Royce got his shirt pulled over his head, nearly got the double foot stomp, double punch in the face, picked up by his pants and dropped on his head, fake tapped out etc. I don't remember everything but just because the fight took forever. Renzo actually beat Sakuraba in the stand up and took over sometimes on the ground. Royce won rounds because Sak wasn't trying

You have to remember that Royce's fight was no time limit, and Royler and Renzo's fights had a time limit. So you can't judge them the same way. So he lasted longer, that was because Sak wanted to wear Royce out. If Renzo fought him with no time limit he would have fought a completly different fight. If you watch the fight objectivly you'll see that Renzo clearly landed much better strkes thatn Royce, Renzo landed better kicks thatn Sak in the fight. Renzo scored a takedown, which I don't think Royce was able to do in the whole 1hr 30mn fight.

Thank you tuffguy you took the words right out of my mouth. Sak has said in many interviews that he laid back in the first few rounds. Royce also acknowledged this. Royce is a warrior. He gave Sak a battle. But to say because his fight lasted longer he is a better fighter than Renzo is a joke. The rules stipulated a no time limit match. That changes the whole dynamic of the fight.

I will repeat my earlier post. Sak said Renzo was the toughest of the three Gracies by far. He said he was the most well rounded also. If Renzo convinced Sak, why aren't you convinced?
