I lived in Japan for a while and I can tell you this, on average, most people were definately shorter than I am. Hell, I'd go to dance clubs and have no problem seeing over most of the crowd. I'm 5"11, and in the states, that means I generally can't see over everyone else because there's always a bunch of taller guys there. Not so in Japan.

Yes, they have a few tall ones here and there, but mostly, they aren't as tall as us on the average.

WIAG: Open your eyes. There isn't a single study employing an apreciable quantity of test subjects to provide a remotely accurate analysis that might give a finding regarding strength capacity of asians that reflects on the general population (and NONE so far involving Japanese). As far as the few studies there are examining physical & athletic differences of whites, blacks, and asians...whites/asians have come out even on all qualitative strength factor performance tests, and were outperformed in many tasks by blacks. Cite me a SINGLE credible reference (published peer reviewed, since you imply it's within your easy grasp) using a scientifically acceptible quanity of test subjects to reflect on an entire population. What? Can't find one? How about a SINGLE peer reviewed study using JAPANESE test subjects analysing qualitative strength charateristics and an analoguous study using caucasians to provide comparison? What, can't find one?

In order to evaluate a culture, you have to have more than several encounters with that culture.
So what if you trained with a couple of dudes. Even if you have trained with over a dozen.

In sociological studies, there must be hundreds to thousands of people in a study to be able to generalize any type of character traits.

This is like playing dozens of basketball games and come up with ( the popular movie title "white men can't jump")
Just because you play with several white dudes and they can't jump as high as you can. (assuming that you aren't white too, duuuh!)

Now as you can see how ridiculous this saying is, since there are many races and cultures that have men and women that can jump high.

Sure, this is how cultural and racial sterotypes are born, from ignorance. But in the true sense of characterizing a race or culture, you have to have thousands of tests.
Now if you can do a huge sample of the Japanese people and
standardize a test to measure strength and THEN you can measure the other cultures from other countries.
Some might say, look at the Olympics, but each country preps their athletes differently. There are several countries that pour millions into their Olympic athletes programs.
