I myself am a single leg shoot kinda guy. However, with gis I really like hip tosses.

If I can, I like double leg shoot but thats hard to get. Shootfighting all the way baby

I like a regular hipthrow, a low single, and a gator roll(any variation). Also, an over under(50/50 position in clinch) lateral throw and a bodylock roll.

In grappling I like to go for ankle picks. They're so friggin' sweet.

I like the functional throws/takedowns - double leg, single leg, ect.

But for pure finesse/artistry, I love silat throws - puter kepala, kinjit, etc.

And they're good for making your opponent feel totally outclassed!

They usually taught us in wrestling to use a hip toss or headlock takedown only as a last ditch effort, it's so easy to reverse. But I prefer a dump, double leg, or under hoook, over hook, then looking to throw from there.

The headlock hipthrow is easy to counter standing up and on the ground(mat) if youve practice countering alot, but a hipthrow can only be countered if they drop their base, a succesful hipthrow to the ground should end up in a chest on chest pin where as a succesful headlock toss will have your opponent on his back but be in the position to take yours.

I prefer footsweeps if I have to choose a Judo technique. But yes, anklepicks all the way! They don't use a lot of your energy like shots and are quite rewarding if you land them.

It's very difficult to get a good hipthrow. It ususally won't work, and they don't have to lower their base. It's a fairly innefective move. True, when it works, it can have huge pay offs, on and off the matt... but it's one of those moves that's better left to last ditch efforts.

He would be successful no matter what he does. He could lay on his back, let you try to pin him, and within 3 sec you'd be pinned yourself.
