  • grappling mats

Hey guys, I'm a first time poster on these forums. I'm wondering if you guys train at home or anywhere outside your dojo (a friend's garage perhaps?). If so, what kind of mats do you use? I'm looking for an inexpensive solution to rolling at home. Do you know of any way for me to make my own? I don't need anything professional or of the highest quality, just some sort of padding so I don't break my back on the wooden floor.

    Thanks alot.

Its always nice to have a group of guys who are also into grappling. I would recomend buying used ones from wrestling teams or gymnastic places. You can sometimes find them on ebay, or talk to your local university. Thats what I would do, and its what I might do if I ever find space to put a mat down.

I would recomend you also practice BJJ in an actual establishment if you aren't doing this already.

    Good luck.

Yeah, I already practice at an academy but I wanted an inexpensive way for me to be able to roll outside of classes with friends of mine.

Thanks for your help, I'll look into that.

I have a king sized bed right so me and my training partner use that as a padded training surface right. We have great fun rolling in my bedroom.

they have sectional colored mats that interlock like puzzle pieces, dont know who makes them though I'll have to ask around.

oh yeah if nutter offers to grapple with you dont take him up on it, you have been warned!
