Well I just saw a person bleeding to death just an hour ago next to my building by the stair case. He was jumped by 3 men and I dont not want that to happen to me. So are their any grappling arts that have really good throwing skills that have alot of power to knock out or really hurt a person?

Honestly if you want to injure someone very badly by slamming there heads on concreate then my two choices would be in order....Judo then Greco....bolth would be great.

Brazilian Jiu Jiitsu all the way, you can freaking finish the fight quicker than anything. Combine that with Greco/Judo/freestyle and youre a fighting machine!

Wrestling gives a good base of takedowns. If youre already a good striker, take wrestling.

Maybe you want to do Urban Combatives right and get a fettish for blades, that will make you feel far more secure without the inconvience of actually learning much grappling mate

He's talking to the threadstarter, and at the same time taking a shot at BoarSpear, Tanto1, and possibly a few others who like the Urban Combatives forum.

I'd say take Greco or Judo if your interested in self defense, you will learn how to pitch people on the ground. Personally I'd go with Greco if you can find it, I think it applies to street self defense better than Judo, although I'm not taking anything away from Judo.

Btw, this is the mma forum, and I know grappling is part of mma, but when its for the street, Urban Combatives bud.

                        ....

............ I like this forum too. I just don't care for some of the HYPE on BJJ... It's not so fun to learn what doesn't work the hard way. Just PRETEND one day to play SHANK the grappler and see if you still think it's the best style for the streets...

Nutter can take all the cheap shots he likes...He doesn't know jack shit about me.

So, we're something of an experienced grappler now are we?

                          3rd degree Thaskalos wasn't it???

Judo... It will take some time to get good at but it's clearly the best art for smashing people on the streets.
