          well, look at your first question. what if the guy was way stronger and bigger? then your strength is indeed going to be kind of important. in my opinion being as strong and muscular as possible is a great advantage when it comes time to defend yourself. if only to not just get physically overpowered by some asshole. also, extra muscle can give your body some extra protection from strikes and falls. wrestlers lift weights to protect their necks/backs and gain strength. its an incredible advantage, especially in sd situations when sheer brutality, strength and force are needed more often than finesse and technique.

          i was reading that one book about using wrestling for self defense a while back, i forgot what the name was. that book was pretty damn good inmop, no bs. it stressed the importance of lifting weights and increasing your strength for defending yourslf.

          one of my fav techniques from that book is a takedown/throw type technique were you grab you opponets belt from the front, and pull it towards you while simultaniously pushing his chest away from you, causing his dome to crash into the floor.
