What is everyone's fasination with Diego Sanchez

I don't understand what the deal is with D.S.
I was there in LA in the 11th row. I saw every second of that fight. How in the world can any of you people say that D.S. won the fight? Why, because he was aggressive? So what? He got rocked, carried and shut down!
What's the point of even having judges. EVERYONE that was there saw the fight and new what happened. D.S. even knew he lost the fight. UFC is getting ridonkeyless. The way that J.A. carried his ass all the way to his corner and then was trying for a standing up on the back reverse arm bar was amazing. My Sifu even said he heard the Rock (he was sitting 2 rows behind him), saying that "that little white kid got robbed". You should've heard the boos and the laughs when Joe Rogan asked why there were boos. D.S. didn't do crap. You people think being aggressive means anything. What about controlling the fight? J.A. controlled the pace the tempo and the outcome of the fight. Even on his back D.S. couldn't do a thing.
I think the UFC really needs to do a change of the judging system. Having a good defense is just as important as a good offense. Look at the Jeremy Horn fight. He was getting beat down. But he pulled it out w/a arm bar. Does that mean w/o the armbar Sonnen would've won because he was more aggressive?

JA was kick ass - i just hoped he would have followed up with a cross even once or twice, he would have rocked sanchez. Those were some of the quickest and wickedest sprawls I've seen ... very inspiring.

True, but you think just because "he was pressing action" he was the better fighter that fight. You should have seen it. With Diego on J.A.'s back, J.A. was as cool as Ice. He carried his ass all the way to his corner and was getting advise from his team. What composure.

what did Alessio do? NOTHING, he stopped a few takes downs and ran from Diego while lobbing out a few lousy jabs. Thats it, nothin. No take down of Diego, no control on the ground, as a matter of fact, he gave up his back, a major no no. Diego pressed the action, chased the wimp around the ring, got it on the ground only to have the wimp stand up and ultimatly give his back. Diego won every round going away, Read the rules, pressing the action and being agressive gets points. How anyone thought Alessio DID ANYTHING is a joke, to think he actually won is ridiculous, he did nothing to deserve a victory.

it would have been great to see alessio get that arm bar from diego when he was on his back....great idea on johns part and bringing him to his corner. But diego did overall show more aggressiveness even though he couldnt get him to the ground. alessio is with militech i think he shoulda been more aggresive with his stand up if that s where he wanted to keep it....(like matt and spencer did) juss opinion

Diego is a jackass freak, but he does have some skill. That fight was close but unfortunately the jackass won. Alessio could have press a lot more, yeah he has great defense, and once he got Diego thinking I can’t take him down, then he should have thrown more punches. There were plenty of times where Diego had his hands down from exhaustion. A little more punches thrown from Alessio and the fight would have been his hands down.

Maybe it was simply that Diego got all recharged with his rain dance right before the fight.

Diego may not have gotten a touch down but he is the only one who kicked a field goal, heck it could have just been a Safety. Either way, whether he kept getting stuffed at the line, or not, he pushed, he showed the determination, he got the most noticable points = victory. Maybe Alessio should just go out in pads and be a human punching bag.

Diego clearly won, and ALlessios lame arm bar or whatever it is was a long way from making a black belt tap out. come think of it, when was the last time in mma a BJJ black belt has actually tapped out?? yes they get KOd and lose on points. ref stoppage, etc, but when did one tap out lately? He had no fighting spirit, it was like he was just there to practice defending. It was not a fight he did not fight he just constantly tried to avoid Diego. Had Diego gotten in earlier, he would have won. Maybe Alessio should review his gameplan if he plans on winning any matches. Last time I checked it wasn't the Ultimate Defending Championship.
