"ohh look at the bald guy with a gun pointed at him"

Why don't you delve a little further before making up your mind? at least I actually studied BJJ and can therefore have an informed opinion....you're just mud slinging.

*sigh* arguing with idiots is exhausting...

What I meant bjjp was why don't you do some research, take a class or two in Defendo or another real combat discipline and then comment. How do you know what you're missing? How do you know that what I'm saying isn't 100% accurate?

Man...you're in the closet, but the door is wide open!

If you're that paranoid about fags, then you're most likely gay.

It's pretty sad that you've let society condition you to be this way.

You get freaked out about testing yourself against another human being if it involves physical contact for more than 3 seconds?

Go play basketball or something, man. And go see a shrink, you've got issues.

Boo, I actually know and train with guys who have trained (or currently train) Navy Seals, FBI, CIA, SWAT, and other Spec Ops groups and none of them, absolutely NONE of them do DEFENDO . . . but every single last one of them, that I personally know, train BJJ.

They also train Muay Thai and some version of FMA and quite a few of them are advocates of JKD concepts style of training . . . but none of them REPEAT none of them train DEFENDO.

That's incorrect so you're either stupid or lying. I've attended many classes with law enforcement and military personnel an they all said the same thing when it was over...

You people are a perfect example of why your "style" is flawed...you have some sort of blind allegiance to it, almost like a religious fervor...and its so strong that you cant even admit to simple obvious facts.

-if you don't train to fight against multiple attackers you wont be able to defend well against multiple attackers.

-If you don't train to defend against weapons you wont be able to defend well against an opponent with weapons.

-if you don't train to defend against a surprise attack you will be less able to defend against a surprise attack.

-If you only train to fight on a mat you're not going to fight as well on pavement.

-If you don't train to take a blow to the head you will be less likely to take blows to the head.

It's not rocket science boys...you become good at what you train at. I train to fight in full attack mode against multiple attackers with weapons on concrete...you train to roll around with you buddies on a mat.

                        Do the math

Not necccessrily, if you fight well in a ring, you have a damn good chance of fighting good on pavement.

There's other combat sports that teach you to not only to take extreme punishment but to give it as well.

I bet Defendo is a great mix of combat arts......but when youre training to fight multiple opponents, are you going full speed with full force? Are the dummy weapons you use marked so you can see where the damage would have been done?

If your environment around you is really that dangerous and youll need to defend yourself in those conditions(multiple armed opponents), buy a GUN, and train to use that........

I have done my homework for a solid 20 years now, only four of that in BJJ. And I've trained with some of the best in the world in a number of disciplines. Many of my training partners and several of my coaches have and or do work with different Spec Ops groups and I will say once again, in complete honesty, that none of the people I know in the Spec Ops training arena have EVER done "DEFENDO"

My homework is done and you need to get back to school because someone is apparently selling you a sh*t sandwhich and making you smile about it by wrapping it up in a nice little commercial package and calling it "DEFENDO".

My name is Gerald Harris and I train at The Ultimate Combat Training Center in Salt Lake City Utah (http://www.slcbjj.com ) Anytime you're in the region feel free to stop in and check us out . . . I am there damn near every day and everyone knows me (ask for Gerald or "DJ", either will work). I'll be glad to work you through some real world BJJ applications.
