Training in the UK

I'm going to be on a trip in the UK for two and a half weeks. Does anyone know of any good schools I might find?

I'm going for a graduate level study abroad program and I'm going to be in London, Wales, Ireland and Scotland...everywhere. I'm also going to be in Paris for a weekend but I'm really not looking for a place to train there. I'd much rather spend that weekend exploring the catacombs. :-)

Hi Ashley.

I train out of Gracie Barra Bristol (West UK). Basically you've got:

Gi - tons of BJJ clubs, if you're in London check out Roger Gracies academy at Budokwai.

No Gi - London Shoot is pretty good.

MMA - Wolf Slayers or Trojan (a few locations).

A good start is to checkout www.graciebarra.co.uk and the MMA forum at www.cagewarriors.com for the MMA stuff. If you're down Bristol way give me a shout & I'll welcome you to our club.

thanks! I'm not sure if I have room in my suitcase for my gi since I'm an overpacker....if I went to a bjj school do you think they'd have extra gi tops?

Not generally, unless it's a big academy that has 'hire gis'. Might be worth giving Roger Gracies academy a call.
