  • won my first "fight"

If you didnt know Ive been training in BJJ for only a few months and I decided to enter into a competition last week. There was gi and no gi, but I went for no gi. So far ive been training with people a lot better than me and a lot heavier than me. He went for a take down very fast. He tried to clinch and fall back to put me into his guard but he didnt have a good grip. It ended up with him on his back and me standing up. So I went to side control and went for the mount. He tried to buck but just turned onto his side. I went for armbar and he freaked out and went on all fours. I put him in the rear naked. *btw I think this was his first competition too* It lasted just about 50 seconds. What a rush!

Yeah thats a bundle of nerves going out there, most people that dont compete dont realize how much it helps your game to actually get on the mat in a competition. good job

Nice job man. Most people don't win their first match, it's tough as far as the mental game. Good job, keep us updated on future matches, I'd love to hear more.

            Woohoo!
You DA man. Nice work. Keep it up and don't get cocky.
on the other hand i'm not sure how many people consider grappling matches"fights". But thats not important, whats important is you won.

I have yet to actually have my first controlled fight. I just started training a few days ago, but I love it sooooooo much. When I get in the ring, I have no nerves about the fear of competition, just a fear of dissappointing myself.
