I see that MMA smokers are getting really popular lately. What is the normal rules for these. There is an upcoming smoker in Oakland that is allowing punches to the head, is this typical?

Ive fought about 10 MMA smokers....rules were pretty much just like the ufc...except no elbows and no excessive ground and pound.Comment

most amature mma allows no ground strikes to the head! I would guess smokers are no different, I haver never been to one, only sanctioned ISCF
we allow striking except elbows while standing, and limited ground striling (no head except open hand to maniplate position i.e set up for rear choke, ect)
are these smkers held in gyms? I think it sounds like a great idea, I am doing spins to make our event in NY legal, if I had my own arena none of this would be neccasary!
the NY state athletic commission is very ridiculous!
