does anyone compete in amateur mma?

I'm just wondering if any of you compete in amateur level mma. If so where and what are your records. Mine record is 1-1 right now I didn't do so well in my last fight. I got submitted with only 3 seconds left in the round(triangle). My first fight only lasted 26 seconds which I won(rear naked choke). Also if anyone is interested my school has a fighting promotion called "High Octane Fighting Championships" it is all amateur as of now. I live in Knoxville and I train with a lot of guys who fight Amateur MMA In Kentucky--- Middlesboro, Corbin, Harbin, Lexington and a few other places. There are always fights coming up in these areas. Unfortunately, it is still illegal in Tennessee. What is the climate like for MMA in your area? Do you go to Kentucky or Georgia or somewhere else to get a chance to fight?

I just checked out the website you posted and found out the fights were in Tennessee. Good luck with the State. They will be around to shut it down eventually. I know it sucks; but, MMA gets the shaft everywhere in Tennessee.

New York is the same! it probably isn't illeagel just like in Ny because most state commisions can't regulate amature mma or any other amature events, look for my post about mma in New York, great article, first drop the term MMA come up with something else, we use extreme Martial arts! but still also write a waiver that will choke a horse, and pair it with something else like kickboxing or something!

In tennessee, any event that might cause brusing is illegal. Can you believe that? It does no good to argue that High School Football causes brusing.

boxing is leagel! I boxed at ETSU during my undergrad! what about that, some great boxing gyms in Tenn., so what do they do with Kickboxing?

Boxing is regulated by the state and is legal. There used to be Toughman comps and they left a bad taste. So, the law was changed and just about everything except authorized boxing events were outlawed. Regular Martial Arts Tournaments are OK. MMA is out.

The people in charge of the state regulatory board are pro boxing which means anything which competes with boxing is out.

are u Jay or Josh? those guys are 1-1 on that site. And how "extensive" are these fighters BJJ training? It says that about all of them, but doenst tell us there (THEIR) belts, which tells everything in BJJ

most of our people are just starting in bjj. The guy that does most of the instruction is a brown belt.

Oh and don't hate on the pictures that is somones child. This is primarily an ATA school and there are alot of children learning here. We are in the early stages of the mma aspect.
