This is one that's probably answered elsewhere, but in a nutshell you

    - hug the opponents back (over their shoulder) with your free side arm

    - rotate your body slightly to the same side

    - take their knee out with yours (like in the playground!)

(Now you've got your opponent in sidemt & they still have the guillotine on.)

    - move your body towards their head.

    - put your forearm across their neck

    - simultaneously push down with your forearm & posture up with your head.

(guillotine pops off, you've got sidemount).

PS. Easy armbar from here if you trap their arm that's just popped open

      ^^ Same technique I use...

Also if you need to alleviate pressure while standing, use both hands to pull down on the arm that is sunk in to your neck and then turn your chin inside towards the opponents body. This will help buy you the extra seconds you need to get the takedown if he sinks it deep...

Had to edit to add a fav trick of mine, once the choke free's up feint the arm bar and then go all the way around the top (through 50/50 and keeping the arm trapped under your weight) and take the arm-triangle from the opposite side, you can mount from the opposite side easily with this as well if you do it quickly....

A Good Escape From Standing Gullitine Is If He Has Your Head With His Right Arm (that is if your head in on the right side of his body , for example), You Lift Your Right Foot Off The Ground, Then Swing It Backwards To Get Some Momentum, Then Swing It Forward All The Way In Between His 2 Legs, At The Same Time As It Passes His Legs On Its Upswing, You Sit Down Or Sit Back Real Fast(youre Going To Roll All The Over Backwards) While Reaching Up And Putting Your Hands On His Knee Cap Areas, Then As You Sit You Push His Knees Real Hard And You Completely Roll Over Your Back While Throwing Him Off You, It Works Like Charm, Ive Used In Tournaments And Its Never Been Stopped. Ive Never Seen It In Mma Or Anywhere Else, But Try It Out. You Have To Commit To It To Make It Work, If You Are Half Ass, You Wont Throw Him

That sounds like a pretty good technique. There is also a throw/toss type counter as well isn't there were you end up in a side mount?? I haven't got a lot of experience with BJJ grappling so excuse my question.

Interesting way to write your post......are you trying to start a new trend?

Sometimes he gets confused about which ones need to be capitalized, so he just goes with all of them!

No. I just try to make all the letters real big, kinda like in kindergarden, so you guys, like yourself, who are real dumb, can see the "big" letters and sound them out real easy, and then, like average 7 year old children, make sense of them

Hmmm, I have seen something similar to this but used as an entrance to X-guard pulling the choking arm through for the "full sweep" straight into mount. It is a very difficult move... I will try this variation and see how it works for me. Thanks for the technique Oma...

Oma heres a good technique for that on a standard keyboard, look straight down at your keyboard, now turn your head slightly to the left and bring your left hand up to the sameside (left) edge of the keyboard. With your ring or middle finger depress the key directly in the middle of the row on the outside left edge of the keyboard. Works for me like a charm and I have never seen it duplicated in the wilderness of North America.

Hey Sapatiero...and Jordan those are good moves. Also Oma like yours to I know what your talking about and it works good.Another one you can do (depending on how big the guy is) is kinda of a lift and dump move.
If he has your head wrapped with his left arm and your head is on his left side you will take your left arm and hug his back (over his shoulder) and take your right hand and grab his forearm to keep it from being as tight(and turn your chin to lessen the choke) then like most guys he is going to lift and crank, as soon as you feel the him "coming" back down you will take your right arm and shoot it thru between his legs and scoop him up and dump him on his head/top of shoulders and pop your head out and you are in side mount position then it is on to whatever you want to try...

Also when in this position you need to be very aware of your opponent dropping or sprawling to the ground and landing some knees or other subs.

The one's above are what I use the most; but, some guys (esp. wrestlers) like to wrap over the shoulder and through the crotch. Then pick the guy up high for a slam. If you are really pissed, you jump with the guy driving your shoulder into him as he lands on his back on the ground. This seems to be more common in MMA.
