Again NO the Athletic commisions test for so many types of roids and enhancing supplements that its nearly impossible that a champion who gets tested EVERY single time he fights gets away with it.In case you didnt know Nathan Maraquart tested positive for an enhancing supplement similiar to juice as well....however he asked for a re test and they conclued that he had not taken the supplement...its just his body reacted weird with a different supplement he took which was legal.Im pretty sure the commissions test for almost every kind of enhancing drug out there.

Look at things this way. Some of those guys have builds far bigger than those who compete in "natural" body building shows, i.e. shows where the competitors do not want this chemical assistance.

So, if totally dedicated body builders, who do nothing but body building AND don't spend time on conditioning and grappling and boxing etc. are not as big as the Matt Kerr's of this word, how can that be!

HE looked ok when his arms were 23 inches, then he hit the juice and went nuts. I guess its 'reverse anorexioa' or something?

Exactly, most of the guys juice, its not uncommon or a big deal really, I did it even for 2 weeks in college just to try it out when i was lifting weights for 3 years straight, 5 times a week. Kerr is looking really bad these days though, he is off the jiuce and his body is all flabby

Valentino, the guy from the T-Nation article, has been shooting monkey juice into his a$$ for years. He also injects a type of oil directly into his muscle tissue that causes the muscles to swell most of his size is form the oil and not from actual muscle tissue. The problem with the oil is that you have to reinject on a regular basis.

And Mat Hughes is just not that big. I've trained with professional bodybuilders, professional powerlifters, a couple of guys who competed professionally in strong man competitions and in highland games comps, and I've know a ton of guys who used steroids. Matt Hughesdoesn't look like a user and he doesn't act like a user, he just looks like a wrestler.

Does this look like a steroid user?

Compare it to how he and his twin brother looked in highschool:

The guy has not gone through some oddd metamorphosis over a rediculously short period of time. He trains hard, that's it.

There are a lot of natural bodybuilders who are much bigger...

And he could be using steroids without being exceptionally big. Some steroids give more strength than mass (mostly used by powerlifters/fighters).

Ok, so you're saying that there are steroids that increase strength and power, but cannot be tested for and leave no side effects?

What the hell are we arguing about then?

That's some beautiful logic right there --> "Hughes takes roids because we can't prove that he doesn't take them."

I don't think anyone said that.

But it is true that someone could be on a steroids cycle right now, gain strength and/or muscle mass off it, keep the gains and pass the tests 6 months later.

I am not saying Matt Hughes did it, I am saying that is it definitely possible, and there's basically no way to know.

Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner...

No one get's that though Penance, they would rather try to justify his victories by saying he uses roids, instead of admitting he is an exceptional fighter and deserves his belt... ignorance...

Pure speculation is not worth discussing

Until there is confirmation I would not accuse an athlete of drug use unless there is obvious physical signs that indicate it. Even then, I would be reluctant as typical physical signs, e.g. acne on the back and gynacamostia (breasts on men) occur naturally too. So, I don't vote on this.

I will say this, however. I am not aware of the drug testing regimine in MMA, but I do believe that all systems currently used can be beaten in man ways not worth discussing. I also know that steroid use (and other aids) are used rampantly in all physical sports. You cannot always tell by looking at someone whether they are using. Some steroids will cause more aggression and more power without the size gains. These are commonly used by athletes who compete in weight classes or are trying to keep their body weight down (e.g. sprinters). THat's about all you can say. Everything else is speculation.

basically this is how it goes, if you did any type of activity involving strength at a young age, your body will undergo a change. i started wrestling in the 6th grade and ever since then my arms have always been a little bit bigger than the norm. only because i trained for so many years. your body starts to change into muscle when you begin to train alot. so its only natrual for your body to devlope muscle over timer after many years of wrestling, for example. matt hughes isnt on roids for the last friggin time. its getting old. hes not that huge.
