Really? Had he done ground arts before BJJ? What's his name/instructor? That's pretty amazing.

That pic isn't me, my friend. That's a pic of a rather beautiful musician.

        I'm an ugly guy.

If this is true that's the fastest I have ever heard of someone getting their BJJ Black Belt. Prior to that Mike Fowler got his in 4 (under Lloyd Irvin) and that was the fastest I had seen or heard of, and Fowler is a GOOD grappler. He could have won the mundials if he didn't get robbed against Moraes (but that's a whole different topic). Typically it takes quite some time (at LEAST 8 years on average) to get your BJJ Black Belt...

Mmmm... I'll be convinced when I can see he's for real. Can you remember the name of his club, and whether he did a ground art before BJJ?

2 years to a black belt would be pretty amazing in an art like BJJ, where it's mainly about mat time, and there aren't any short cuts. Most players spend 2 years at blue belt alone.

I dont know much about it. He isnt taking BJJ anymore, he went back to his MMA school Team Quest when he got back to Portland.

In all honstly he could be lying, but I dont see why he would feel the need to lie to me about something like that.

My original point however, is that the time it takes to achieve blackbelt has nothing to do with the art itself. Blackbelt means nothing unless you make it mean something.

Not necessarily if you're chasing them in a car with a shotgun.

I get the witty psuedo-zen-esque-ish-like-thingy analogy...but seriously...hefenfeffer for all...kill da wabbit kill da wabbit...

Just tell the first rabbit you'll give him $500 to kill the other one and bring him to you, then when he comes to collect, pow! you gots your two rabbits.

Oh, and tell him to bring beer too.

Not true. They aways take off in different directions.

You'd have to use some type of airstrike to get two rabbits at once.

Somehow I remember a childhood trip to a canyon with a kids camp...and having our bus hit and kill about 8 rabbits along a particular stretch of road. 8 rabbits in 45 minutes...unintentionally. Those furry little fuckers are all over the place depending on where you are.
