A couple of the Gracies in Barra do it - I've seen Gregor Gracie and a few of his mates play around with capoeira at the academy. As a result, Gregor is pretty acrobatic & it certainly helps with things like flying triangles & cartwheel guard passes. But on its own, capoeira is just acrobatic dancing IMO, and doesn't really have much credibility as a practical martial art. But beautiful to watch.
I'd think just the swiftness of some of these stylist could make it hard to land a good blow on them. It does seem like it would be more effective for open areas than in closed areas.
