  • who are you?

I've been here a while even though I don't post a lot and every so often I like to see forum members tell a little about themselves. It helps to keep up with the new forum members and the ones that just change user names.
I have been streetcop on this board since about 99 or so and I am in Law Enforcement. I am 30 yrs old and feeling better than at 20.I am a 2 stripe blue belt in bjj and I hope to follow bjj all the way to black belt.
    Forum?

I am a Ninja, banished from my homeland. Forced to live in the jungles of Papua New Guinea. Thank god I have this laptop computer and a satellite connection.

I train here with a group of locals that took me in and gave me breakfast. As there are people here from many different MA backrounds, we merged all our styles and called it Ninchido. It is a blend of Japanese, Chines and Filipino stlyes combined with techniques we developed ourselves.

        houstonemt,
Yes,bjj does help in police work but you have to be careful when choking someone because here it is considered deadly force and you don't want to break bones if you can help it(lawsuits,I have had a few including one that is ongoing)but to control a suspect and restrain him without beating his brains out with a stick does have appeal. But to be honest my first response is pepper spray then bjj,it worked on me when I was certified with it and it will work on more than 99% of people.

        Shimora,
Is Papua New Guinea where you were instructed in the art of grappeling in a barrel?(I'll never forget that thread)LOL!

...my real name is Roger Daltry.

..I can see for miles when I put on an eminence front, I dig rough boys behind blue eyes who join together and won't get fooled again when I'm face to face with the trick of the light and a little is enough; you better you bet!

              Steven Kim,

A 17 year old student who is fighting against his parents wishes to practice Muay Thai. Trying to practice as much as even though they do not approve. Spending every single cent I earn on my Friday and Saturday night job on Muay Thai training....

                John Taylor

I work in a restaraunt to pay the bills and I teach a small mixed martial arts class on the side. I'm also a musician working on recording a solo album. I haven't really been teaching any classes lately for various reasons, but hopefully soon when I move into a new place I'll start again.

No way I will post my real name

I'm the owner of a coffe shop.
Four stripe blue belt in Ruas Vale Tudo.

I'm deeply bored by life, other than the occasional rough sparring I have no distractions.

Lately I'm teaching a small MMA class, but it's frustrating; my student are not in shape, nor they endure pain, they are not willing to pratice the real craft, so I'm considering closing the class.

Right now I'm ont the border of being burned out, I'm starting to get bored even by MMA.

                  I need a layoff...
