Lately I've been getting a lot of clock chokes. But I'm happiest when I sink in a triangle.
Aside: anyone else keep track of the number/type of submissions they get? I've been doing that since my first BJJ lesson (not that I got any submissions at that time!). Numerically, cross choke from the guard seems to be my most effective submission, followed by armbar (mount, double-attack position).

Im 6'3 so I use my long legs well, so the triangle works wonders on people, if that fails to choke them, reach under their thigh and sweep them over into the mount and tranisition to an armbar. beautiful
Most begginners like the keylock, they teach that the first day of class. I dont think ive ever tapped to one of those
How could you not tap to a good keylock... either people aren't trying it enough on you, or they aren't doing it properly(or setting it up properly).
P.S. You are right, most begginers like it, but most begginers just try to force the arm down and pull it off, I properly set it up. Also, I said it's my FAVORITE, doesn't necessarily mean it's my best sub from sidecontrol or most commonly used.
If we were going with most commonly used... well, with a gi... I strongly prefer knee on belly, and from there I like to armbar, but without gi I would say I usually go for a kimura and just straighten it out.
