You were right about the schools. Aparently they all recruit from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and such. I assumed URI had the only D-1 team in New England years ago because if you've ever wrestled in any of the new england states, or in the regional championships, you'd know that we weren't that good. New Englands (on the high school level) is like a Pennsylvania all county championship...

My bad on the misinformation. What college did you wrestle at Juba? And are you from New England?

yeah in maine there were times back when i wrestled where the kids were really good. its weird it kind of fluxuates from years to year. but yeah look up noble high school and camden hills, lisbon, they were really good schools that i wrestled. a couple places from new york and connecticut to. they reason there so good is because there are so many kids and so many matches. they have to get good, lots of competition.

          Quite certain.

That I can debate. Compared to Iowa, Oklahoma, etc. everyone sucks, but compared to the southeast, southwest, and much of the west New England doesn't match up so badly. Whence this prejudice?

Quite a few All-American wrestlers have come from the NE.

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

Like any other sport, they recruit from anywhere they can.

Technically J-Luck, we do ACTUALLY have a team, we are part of the NCWA (not to be confused with the NCAA) and we wrestle against teams in New England and New York primarily. The NCWA has regionals and nationals, we had a wrestler go to the NCWA nationals last year.

Illinois, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Minnesota are very good too.

Actually it does. You're looking at it from a collegiate standpoint. I'm looking at it from the 5 year old to senior year of highschool standpoint. In that area, I am correct. It's not our fault, it's just, as I said, population. New Englands(high school) is like a Pennsylvania or New York all country... not really a big deal.

Oh, so basically of the same caliber of the RIC team. Not the D-1 team that they used to have though.

Hey, you didn't answer about Santos. What do his classes consist of?

Do I sense some animosity? I'm just debating a point ya know. I USUALLY take your side in arguments.

That's what we were talking about from the get-go. URI, Div 1 programs, remember?

Mhm, and I told you that you were right, that the old URI team was not the only d-1 New England team. But, as far as why they are good, it's CERTAINLY not because they recruit from New England highschools.
