  • Jeremy Horn????

Am I the only one who thinks he's overrated... People talk like he's the best in the field but I looked at his record, and it's big but it just didn't seem very impressive.. Most of his wins are over fighters I've never heard off. And most of the big name guys he's fought he's lost to.. Like Liddel, Renato Sobral, Frank Shamrock, and he lost to Arona twice..

So does anyone out there agree with me.

Yes, I don't understand why Matt Hughes always holds him in such high regard as a grappler. If I recall correctly, he's stated that he's one of the best grapplers in the world.

He RECENTLY got TKO'd by Lindland too! But Jeremy Horn is a good "MMA grappler". Pure grappling doesnt translate into MMA the way some people would like it to.

he got a charity decision over lister for the KOTC title, a fight Dean clearly won. But HOrn is pretty good on the ground, no doubt about that.
Though i did see one fight where he applied an armbar and was pulling the guys arm the wrong direction, very strange, he finally realized what he was doing wrong and finished it. It might have been forrest griffin

Oma, I disagree so EXTREMELY much about the Lister fight. Jeremy battered the poor guy. And Lister lost so much blood that I don't think he could have fought another thirty seconds.

I faught in a BJJ Tournament in Oceanside the day after that fight and Dean was there watching some little kid he knew that was fighting, and Dean was beat all to hell, black eye, cuts and stiches, etc., but I think he won anyway, but he was a damaged body

Ugh...I get and agree with the point you're trying to make, but that's a terrible analogy.

Nog and Fedor have both been Pride HW champs, and that's arguably an even greater honor than being a UFC HW champ.

Jeremy has plenty of belts, a few of them hang on the wall of his gym . . . along with the shorts he wore in the Lister fight . . seriously.

I'm sure Lister agrees with you, unfortunately the judges didn't.

                            Jeremy Horn

Jeremy has learned to fight in the ring. You have not heard of most of his opponents because you do no know that many fighters.

He had Frank Shamrock beat before he choked.
He Beat the invincible Liddell, David Loiseau, and me.

That said, he does have his weaknesses.
He is timid and does not commit to his strikes and is stiff.
His strength has been his Jiu Jitsu yet he has a weak foundation with not brazilian training. This is exacerbated by the fact that he spent so much time at Militechs where they focus on wrestling and are weak in Jiu Jitsu. His striking has improved by light years and his innovation in ground and pound is evidenced by his influence on the Militech camps fighters.

He is a very creative and extremely experienced fighter. The reason Hughes hold him in such regard is that he has what Hughes needs, Jiu Jitsu.

I just watched the 2nd Liddell and horn fight.. I gotta say I was pretty impressed with horn. He fought toe to toe with Liddell and even managed to give him a big ole shinner..

                              Hats off
