Started training MMA and combat sports at age 26. Jack of most trades, master of none. This proves that to be a great MMA fighter, you have to have mastered either Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, or BJJ from a young age and still have to be come very profient in others.
Franklin was athletic, decent ground game, good suplexes, good kickboxing. But he had a bad clinch game and no leg takedowns. Sorry "Ace", thanks for playing. Im sure youll make a fine highscool professor.

It sure does. Powerful, fast kicks, punches, elbows and seemless integration between grappling and knees.

Ace isnt done by any means, he is still a solid fighter., he just had no answer for that clintch. He could have, at the very least, pulled guard from there. But he'll be back, he might not be champ ever again, but he has some good stand up and good ground game. One loss doesnt send the guy into retirement. But damn, his nose got crushed, that was the worst nose break ive ever seen, Im surprised that Rich didnt DIE in this fight. Maybe he wont come back

Apparently no one taught Franklin how to get out of a thai clinch. Of course Silva is a world class MT guy, but it didn't look like Franklin tried to swim his own arms inside of the clinch in order to break it off. Franklin made a big mistake staying in the clinch and trying to throw instead of breaking out of it.

I could not believe the fight ended that quickly and yeah his nose is JACKED up! I can't believe Franklin did not know what to do from the clinch, hell he did not even try to stop the knees by crossing his arms and trying to block like most guys would. I was talking to the television telling him to swim his arms inside instead of keeping them outside of Silva's arms and trying to punch. Also Rich did not run away from Silva he took a hard ass knee to the ribs and totally shut down and was trying to protect his ribs when he was kneed in the face and knocked backwards. He did not fall down like that other guy said he was knocked donw by a knee and a kick.

Also Sherk is good but he made alot of beginner mistakes in his fight. The main one I saw that Kenny did not capitalize on was when Sherk was in Kenny's guard he kept putting his head down on the mat right next to Kenny's side and Kenny could have gone for the guilitine or even reverse stocks but did not. The same is true for Sherk there were several times when he was in top mount and had Kenny's arm and head wrapped and was trying to go for a choke by using his shoulder for added pressure but he could never make it work. If he would have gone from topmount to side body/ keasgatami he could have made it a lot tighter and would have had a better chance.

Either way man I am glad it was Kenny who had the blood dripping in his face and eyes and not me.

                              Lol

This just confirms waht I and many other people are saying about the lack of copetetion in the ufc today versus pride. Hughes and Lidddel will be the next to fall to bad ritch you were kinda cool. Matt serra "hugesw is kinda a stuck up jock" no Serra, Hughes IS A STUCK UP JOCK THAT"S ALL HE IS BUT HE"S A GOOD FIGHTER THOUGH, I thought he shi* talking he did to GSP in the sushi resturant on tuf 4 was lame though.
