MMA discussion on this board seems to be down lately. Just trying to perk things up a bit...what matchups would you like to see in the future?
Some more unusual ones IMO for my list:
1) Barnett V Fedor - I think it's interesting stylistically...Fedor hasn't really fought anyone like Barnett yet
2) Gomi V Sherk - Gomi's got some devastating standup and is pretty good with takedown defense, but Sherk's a goddamn monster.
3) Hughes V Hendo - Just cuz. Admittedly no particularly good reason here given the size difference but I'm just curious for some reason.
4) Penn V Kawajiri - I'm just curious...both are tough entertaining fighters. Kawajiri really goes all out and has awesome takedowns and GnP, while Penn is...Penn.
5) Liddell V Crocop - We saw Silva Crocop, and heard a lot about "orthodox" v "wild' striking afterwards...wonder how a different "wild" striker would do against Crocop? Liddell's a bit lankier and seems more "on the mark" than Silva.
These all seem to me to have the potential to make really spectacular entertaining fights. Anybody else got some? Preferably fairly unusual ones, not just grudge matches or obvious ones like Crocop V Fedor, or Hughes V Penn, etc.
