  • Rockson Gracie. Rumors???

Check out the ADCC forum about rumors about Rockson's death. It says that he was missing since December and it hinted to foul play. If it's true, I think we should know the truth. Esspecially those of us that truely mourn for the Gracie family. If it's just rumors than it should be stopped. For these kind of rumors(if it is) is in bad timimg and bad taste. If anyone has the facts please inform us.

I can't find any rumors pertaining to Rockson's death.

But I've heard plenty of them.

What are they? I'm not saying.

I can list all of them but it would just exacerbate the untruths that can happen from second, third and fourth hand distorted information.
I've heard a few really wild ones.
At school, when we heard the new on Friday night there was a whole lot of speculation about the circumstances, but it was just guessing and not based on any facts except Rockson's tragic death.

It's best to be patient and we should learn the whole story, hopefully soon.

I'm very very sorry to hear of Rockson's death at such a young age. But beyond that, if his family does not wish to share any details of his death with us for any reason whatsoever, that is their right. We shouldn't speculate anything regarding this tragedy nor should we demand any explanations.

Mr.Miyagi is right. It doesn't matter what really happened. We are not family members and if his family does not want to release any info, they don't have to. It's their business, not any of ours.

I agree, BUT, Its just hard not to speculate. I mean he supposedly wrecked a motorcycle back in December?!? I live in the south and there are thousands of places where you could wreck and not be found until the next hunting season but in New York!?! Now I've been to New York many times and I know that it could be a rough place but it would take a cold hearted SOB to steal his bike and his wallet after his death. If he had wrecked this past Friday, then there would be nothing left to say. There would be closure. 2 months have passed since he went missing! Wheres his bike? Who was using his wallet. Its just too weird.

People wondering what happened is totally normal. If not there wouldn't be traffic jams after car wrecks. Everybody wants to peak because death stalks us all but it always happens to OTHER people.

My wanting to know what happened mostly lean towards not totally giving up on people as a whole. If someone stole his bike and wallet after he wrecked, that would just be to much for me. I am a father of 3 boys. This may sound terrible to anyone who doesn't have kids but loosing your oldest son would be the worst thing that could happen. I would kill or be killed for all 3 of my sons but theres just something about my oldest son. As with many fathers, your oldest son just seems to mesh perfectly. Your both on the same page about everything. He's always under your feet wanting to help in anyway possible. Always there when your training or whatever. My heart breaks for Rickson everytime I glance over to my son who loves training with me. I truely can't imagine the pain that Rickson must be feeling.

          RIP Rockson...

"Reported missing since December 10th, 19 year old Rockson's body was found in New York yesterday (February 9th) and recognized by his cousin Renzo, who runs an academy in the state.
"He suffered a motorcycle accident and wasn't carrying any ID. That's why he's body wasn't identified", a sad Renzo said on the phone. "We thought he was alive because there was someone accessing his bank account. But since he didn't show up, we kept looking for him until we finally found the body. It's very sad, that kid was a really cool person", the Gracie said in caring way.

This is straight from the Gracie Mag. site.

                Grappler,

It doesn't say his body was found in mid-town Manhattan. New York get's very rural as you head upstate. Unfortunately I don't find it hard to beleive that someone would take an ATM card off of a dead body and use it. However, no one had said that is the case. There is a good chance that the Gracies and the police don't know exactly what happened yet. They may be waiting for the details to get sorted out before they say anything else. It may be normal to wonder what happened, but It's right to respect the family's privacy. Very sad news indeed.

                From the Gracie Magazine website:

Rickson Gracie, Jiu-Jitsu's most famous icon worldwide, is facing what is probably his toughest battle ever: the loss of his oldest son. Reported missing since December 10th, 19 year old Rockson's body was found in New York yesterday (February 9th) and recognized by his cousin Renzo, who runs an academy in the state.
"He suffered a motorcycle accident and wasn't carrying any ID. That's why he's body wasn't identified", a sad Renzo said on the phone. "We thought he was alive because there was someone accessing his bank account. But since he didn't show up, we kept looking for him until we finally found the body. In a moment like this one, when the friends' support is needed the most, and when all this support cannot really change much, we at GRACIE Magazine would like to share our feelings with Rickson and Kim and the entire Gracie family. But most important of all, deep inside our hearts we know for sure that Rockson is well right now, much better than all of us who shall forever keep the joyful memories of the happy, active and friendly boy he always was.

The only fact is, is that he is gone. WHY? I think that the answer is only for Rickson and Kim to know that. I agree with sweep. There is a lot of stuff going around his old High school about what happened too. However nobody knows anything for sure. Rockson was a "god" among other kids @ school; when he showed up @ a party, girls would run around the house to tell all their friends "Rockson here", when he walk down the halls, everybody would get out of his way. He lived a very great life.
                  ROCKSON, WE LOVE YOU!

Taking the Gracie Mag article as true, if the family had been clinging to the hope that he was well, because of the use of his bank account, only to find out that a thief was using said bank account then I hope that thief is brought to justice. However, nothing will bring Rockson back. R.I.P.
                    Rockson.

Well we can hope, but the sad reality is the bastard will probably get away with it. A friend of mine had her purse stolen a couple of years ago, the police said it was very difficult the catch the guys using her cards because the plastic changes hands very quickly. Most cards are fenced and then used by career criminals who know how to evade justice.

RIP Rockson. This is so sad, there have been 2 deaths in our family in the past month, and now this...

                        May he rest in peace.

There is a question I have about the use of his ATM card by a thief. How did the thief get his pin numbers ?
I sure hope the authorities catch that b@stard.

there is no such thing as a 5 dollar hotel in manhattan...if they are referring to the homeless shelters they even charge more than that ... this is pure tabloid trash...and an insult to the gracie family...one should not speculate what has happened...also..it never says at what point someone was accessing the account...it could have been Rockson up to the point of his accident...he was missing for 2 months...so maybe that is when they were speaking of...too much conjecture on this subject...everyone should let it rest...but i realize that the forums are for discussion and i agree that there should be no censorship...but hey come one...hanging a thief before you even know if one exists...that is a little absurd...
