ss...please don't misinterpret my post as aggressive...sometimes that is the downside to posts or emails without hearing the intonations in one's voice you sometimes miss the true meaning...i am glad that he posted that info...unfortunately it seems to be tabloidish...the other part regarding the thieves had nothing to do with him...believe me...i was feeling no mal feelings toward anyone...just seeing a lynch mob forming...around a situation that noone knows if it occurred is a little scary...it could have just been an accident and we are all unsure anyway of the timing of any events...i hope this is true...i think that the gracie family is suffering enough with the loss of rockson without compounding the idea of crime on top of this tragedy...

In my opinion, it is best to not speculate on this. In time, the whole story may or may not come out. Who cares? What matters is that a kid has passed away. The wounds are still fresh, no need to rub salt in them.

Rockson -NYC info...

I am not writing because I know anything about Rockon's death - All I am writing is that the Providence Hotel which that Brazilian Newspaper said is where Rockson was found...is in a bad part of NYC near the lower east side past what is called "alphabet city" in the bowery seciton- there is a lot of bad areas down there and what someone would call a $5 hotel is simply a generalization implying a bad place where ya wouldnt wanna hangout.

My deep sympathies to the Gracie family as I have gotten much motivation and inspiration from them in my life.A truly sickening and tragic loss for them and for all of us.

are you from nyc...your geography about our city is a little off...it is impossible for the bowery to be below alphabet city...they run parallel to each other...i realize that this could have been a way of expressing a fleabag hotel...i am just trying to keep the facts straight...please don't take offense to my posts..i just see alot of speculation and conjecture out there...and with such a tragedy...i just hope that the info that comes out has a truthful basis to it...

thanks for understanding...you are right 100% that i meant no offense to you or your reporting...i think it is important that you post that info as often as it comes out...very interesting what the brazilian papers are saying..but i may disagree sometimes at a gut level on some of the tabloid type conjectures...

SS...the Bowery is south of Houston on the East Side, maybe the tail south end of ALphabet City is parallel to the Bowery, but either way...the point was that it isnt the greatest of areas of Manhattan - I was just trying to help out Beto's post from Brazil so that people knew what that place in NY is like (whether it is true or not that Rockson was there is up in the air)

My condolences to the Gracie family. I heard about Rockson's passing at the Yamasaki Academy website and just couldn't believe it. But I agree that as with any loss, the family should be given time to heal. The last thing they need is speculation and gossip tarnishing Rockson's memory. Whoever did this to Rockson is a coward and hopefully he will be found and justice will be taken. I was just reading about how well he did at a recent tournament and now this.

hopefully he died naturally and there was theft afterwards. if he was a victim of foulplay and the person is responsible is unknown that can eat a family alive.
