Is there anything you dont like about Martial Arts or a style that you dont like.
Maybe you think someting is totally useless, dont work or only suits a certain body build.

Write what you dont like and why...

I personally think all Martial Arts from around the world have good and bad points accept TKD.

I think TKD is useless, arms down by your side bouncing and flying around with kicks thats to high for your opponent. Ive had several fights with TKD people and never evan been hit by them. So easy to grab them and slam them on the floor or knock thier back leg away when they come with them silly high kicks.
My opponents all had been training TKD for over 6 years and half of them had been successfull in TKD tournaments.

I got into a fight with a TKD guy way before I had any martial arts training. He popped me good and hard in the face with a lead leg snap round kick.

He tried the same thing and I slammed him into the ground.

What he should have done was fake a high kick the second time and slam a side kick into my chest or into my thigh (progressive indirect attack). Then come back up to the head with a hook kick or a spinning wheel kick.

If he'd done that, I would've probably been the one to walk away.

I have a friend who is a high ranked BB in TKD who can kick, high, cold and hard. His kicks have KO power, which he's proven time and time again not only in TKD tournaments but in open style tournaments.

    It just depends.

        I agree with you Tom.

TKD takes a lot of shit from people and certainly a lot of it's justified depending on how you look at it. From a self defence perspective TKD type sparring and fighting are pretty shit, especially Olympic style, but it does teach you good balance and footwork which can be easily transferred into another style like MT. Plenty of successful MT fighters in our country have a base in TKD and were very good TKD fighters in their own right first.

As far as what do I dislike about MA's....I would have to say patterns/kata. For a beginner they teach you how to do combinations and, when done properly, can be a good work out but that is about it. Too much dead stuff and too much emphasis on traditional stances and other shit that won't help you in a fight. But this is coming from my perspective and I do MA's for self defence and because I have a job in law enforcement. If you don't do MA's for those reasons then maybe patterns are your favourite thing, and good on you if you do! I just hope you realise they won't will help you in a fight.

I also dislike McDojo shit also and probably some other things but I can't remember them right now. Hopefully others will bring them up.

I do agree it depends on the individual but just what i have seen of TKD i dont like it.

WildWest...Have you ever been taught Kata Bunkai or application to the Katas/patterns?

Hate Mcdojo shit too, USA is much bigger than UK so must get more of it but we get a fair bit here too.
Not mentioning any names or areas but a while ago there was a karate man, Shotokan i think he done. He was a 3rd Dan when he broke away from the big organisation and started his own, within 2 years he was advertising his self as a 6th Dan

i dont like tkd either because all the dojos i have seen here have been mcdojos, or the training was very weak inmop. the training was too unrealistic for me since i am biased from training in mt.

in fact a few weeks ago i was waiting in the parking lot of a little plaza to pick up a sack of some of California's finest herb, and i parked right in front of a tkd mcdojo so i could watch them train as i waited. they tkd'ers were practicing punches and it was terrible. their hands were so low, even when punching, everything exposed. then some other guys in one corner were "trying" to "spar" or something, but even with those lame, huge chest protectors they were afriad of a little contact. i really felt bad for the people who trained there because i bet they pay more than i have to, and i train at a legit school that is down the street from these guys. it was just weaksauce.

Yea olyimpc style Full contact has no street app but getting it's still fullcontact fighting and if any body says it ins't they domn't know zip about fighting
fighting is always fun the chance to knock out (I have) another guy is cool anything full contact fighting is cool.
I've fought in kickboxing too and full contact fighting is full contact fighting be it boxing,mt,kb fc tkd, bkk, ss or what ever else
mma howevwer is on another levet imho
also in kick boxing I'll kick a kickboxer ten times to his one kick I just usually box at the kb gym because it's more fun

You only need 1 good kick to deal with someone...

Whats the point in frowing 10 kicks when only 1 or 2 will probably hit him anyway and no doubt being a TKD fighter it will just tickle him.

I dont like knocking other peoples styles or MA's they train but TKD i really think is crap.
Im not saying there is'nt any good TKD fighters out there but few and far between and maybe the good ones have trained in something else too.

I honestly think someone who has just trained in TKD would not win me in any kind of fight but if that day came then i would shake his hand.

                    The point

of throwing alot of kicks is to put up a wall of lead nad keep baging his body and head to put him on the defensive then close the show with a punch to the jaw or kick to the same. I agree the the hight kicks of tkd are worthless for sd even though it could be done just look at the numerous 1 kick knockouts in mma but in a street fightI'd keep kick low and work punches elbows knees and gapelling i've been inot 300+ streeet altercation as a bouncer so zi'm not insecure baout my street dedfense ability. In the ring they can just bvring cauce i got too much game, to much slickness too much power nad too much tecqnie I don't give peole a beat down I give them a smash down and there strick I do'nt even feel cause I'm so jacked up.
As soon as I see there hurt i.e. smell blood in the water I jump on them and explode all over them. After I'm done with them I say here's a few dolllars now go clean you'reself up kid.

Is that who you fight? KIDS?

Maybe if you fight a man then you will feel the strike.

                        No I won't

Cause compared to me my opponents are just weak little girls the can be 18-45
and there still going to get worked. I got a decade of game for them to deal with. My tkd kick are hard enough to ko a guy wit 1 body shot have done I'm a one hitta quitta baby but if i want to torment my opponent to punish him for my amusement I'll throw more strikes, think of a cat bitch slapping around a mouse then you'll get the picture they just have to get rolled on cause the ring is my hood nigga and I got to keeps it on lock like a real G should I gotta repreasent the G code to the fullest to show em all how a real boss plya be doing thangs. Don't woory thoug I aint mad at ya kid just do'nt be a hata.
                        I'm just serving em cold 187 24/7

funny how you say that. haven't seen any actions from you yet either. you sound cocky too.

i dont know, the "actions are bigger than words" card is hard to play on an internet forum...
