Hip hop has always been silly?

Someone asked me this along with a neg. rep. I don't really care about the rep. but I would like to explain my comment, and since the rep. was anonymous I'll answer your question here. Yes, over the top trash talking and far fetched threats have always been a part of hip hop, and are IMHO a little silly. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big hip hop fan. I have a copy of The Game's new album; it's been keeping me company via iPod while I do my road work since it was released. I like the old school stuff even more than the new in most cases though. "Follow the Leader" is one of my favorite albums and my copy is on vinyl. I'd never try to scratch or beat juggle with it though because it's one of my prize plates and I'd hate to wear it out.

My prediction is that both of the mindless, talentless degenerates go for four rounds and then they simultaineously hit each other resulting in terrible, permanent brain damage for both "fighters".
