Aside from practicing shrimping and circles, and actually rolling of course, what drills can you do on your own to improve your BJJ game? What exercises seem to transfer to BJJ the best?

smoking marijauna might help your jiu jitsu game. i know A LOT of bjj guys who get high before they train because it helps them relax way more, be more creative, and think outside the box. no, im not being a jerkoff, im dead serious and there many jiu jitsu practitioners who swear by it. i agree as well, as i too burn before i rolll and i feel oh so relaxed when i roll. i slip out of holds like butter and keep my cool under pressure. and if i get tired, its ok, i can lounge around the matt and chop it up with the rest of the guys, unless the hot judo chicks from state have dropped in to train newaza, then im gonna try to talk to them the whole time. i cant really roll with them though, as i usually just lay there in awe as they get on top of me.

study different kinds of push up.(e.g. closed grips and one arms ) it will make your arms strong as well as your upper body.I know strength is not priority in BJJ but believe me you will need it too. Jumping jacks and jumping ropes can help improve your conditioning. Also sprints or jogging can help your conditioning.
One thing that can improve your skills is by visualizing. whenever I am alone I try to think about the moves I learned and the things I keep getting mistakes on. And it helps. I forgot the name of the BJJ black belt guy who said visualization helps improve yur game. If im no tmistaken it might be lloyd irvin or Roy harris who said this.
Oh I forgot!!! Get a partner and tell him your weakness and at the same time know his weakness because in that way you can both work on your weaknesses. Example , if you are weak on guard then start by being on the guard and let him escape it while you try to sweep or get a submission then vice versa. If you are weak on the top game then start by being on the top then try to maintain the position or get a submission. this way you can work on your weakness by helping each other. But get a partner who will agree to do this with you because some guys are pricks...
hjope you' ll lke this

Try your ground drills such as shrimping, rolling, bucking etc etc etc with a 100 lb heavy bag on top of you or a 150lbs tai bag on top of you. If they are too heavy try a 70lb heavy bag. It's a good solo drill and is a lot harder that it sounds.

Sparring, but focusing on a very limited aspect of the art. E.g.
-Pass the guard: A tries to pass, B tries to sweep.
-Or escape from cross-side: A escapes from the bottom, B tries to submit from the top (but without changing position)
One "game" we play in judo is the "golden throw" game. It's randori, but each person picks their "golden throw" - whenever they attempt it, you have to stop resisting and let them apply it. You could easily translate that into a "golden submission" game for BJJ. It's not "Oh, I'm mounted so I get to armbar you," but you have to work the set-up.
For solo drills, I like shadow escapes: It's kind of like abecedario/numerada from FMA. Bridge, shrimp, roll (forwards and back), stand-up in base, come to all-fours, stick a leg out and simulate pulling guard. Focus on fluidity of motion, and visualize what your opponent would be doing.
