Well seeing as how he got Triangle choked/elbowed into submission by Anderson Silva id say he's still a moron...however he did briefly have mount and landed some pretty good shots before loosing it with a crappy armbar attempt.

He was swept by Silva then he went for an arm.
The elbows that Silva submitted him with looked kinda illegal even thought they werent "vertical elbows". His first couple elbows looked like the ones Royce Gracie used to throw when he was in that same exact position.
Overall though, UFC 67 didnt live up to the hype. None of the finishes were that steller except for the Huerta fight. The Griffen/Edgar fight was great though. Silva/Lutter, was pretty good, i didnt like the ending though. I wanted to see lutter get KO'd on the feet.
Rampage/Eastman fight was pretty good too, but the fans booing in the audience ruined it.
CC/Sanchez fight, what did you expect? Then finish was really lack luster.

Some good fights for sure, but I can't belive how bad Lutter did. I understand how hard cutting weight is, but you're supposed to be in at least DECENT SHAPE all the time, better shape a few months before a fight, and great shape in the approaching month. When it comes to the actual fight you shouldn't have to cut more than 15 pounds in the last 2 weeks. For sure he would have done better had he not been so tired/dehydrated. I mean that wrestling was by no means good... I think I could have stopped those singles I mean come on... talk about desperate shots.
I thought the fight between the two wrestlers was good(being a wrestler I guess I'm biased). At times, it seemed more like a wrestling match than a fight though, but overall good technique.
I can't say any of the fights were truly dissapointing, except for Jorge... I think that was a fluke. He's got way better jiu-jitsu than that guy, and his standup is far more technical. I guess he's a favorite in Rhode Island since he trains here, but he's a great fighter.

Yea I thought the same with the elbows. But then again, what was a guy like Lutter doing not even TRYING to defend the choke(or trying hard enough). I mean... what's the number 1 defense to a triangle? Posture... didn't see any of that. He basically asked Silva to pull his head and tighten it.

A sweep is when you go from being on bottom to top, there you go, it doesnt have to be from gaurd. A hip escape is an escape, but when you end up on top, its a sweep.
Lutter was trying to posture, did you notice when he stood, etc... He tried to pass gaurd too, he was defending with his hand on his forehead, etc. It's also very hard to posture against a guy built like silva, he can keep his triangle with ease due to his long ass legs. Lutters grappling was never the issue, he didnt tap to a choke, it was the elbows.

After seeing Silva destroy Franklin, I was just impressed that Lutter went to the second round. Not making weight for a title fight, though...yeesh.
Cro Cop looked pretty friggin' scary. I'll bet Tim Sylvia hit the gym 4:30 that Sunday morning.

I don't think he was trying to posture up very much. It could have been because of the dehydration... in fact... it probably was.
Standing is stacking to get out, it's not posturing. And him defending with his hand on his forehead is no substitute for posture.
I know it was the elbows. I've already stated that in an above post. I'm merely stating that the triangle shouldn't have happened to a normal Travis Lutter. He wasn't himself and normally his grappling is much better than Silva's.
