  • the UFC 68 tonight

And this is what the UFC is about. 1 PPV every month that has an ok main event, thats usually a mismatch, not a big mismatch, but still a mismatch. 2 or 3 actually competitive fights on the card with "big names". But only 5 fights are actually show on the PPV.

So tonight, the UFC gives us:

Sylvia-Couture, im excited for this fight. Im rooting for Couture and i think he can win. If Sylvia knocks him out, i wont be suprised though.

Franklin-MacDonald, could be a competitive fight, but i think Franklin will knock him out early

    Hughes-Lytle, mismatch

    "Babalu"-Lambert, mismatch

1 more fight will be shown on the PPV, probably between two TUF rejects.

It kinda of pissed me off how ultimate fighting fans actually think this is a good event. Its filler. Its trendy. You mention "MMA" to someone and theyre like "Wahh???", you say "ultimate fighting" and theyre like "oh yea im a HUGE fan"......

Luckily i will be watching this UFC for free... like ive done with all their events, and im still complaining, lol.

7r14ngL3Ch0k3.... I agree with you. I think the UFC has gone way down hill since the early days. I really think they should have a show once every two or three months instead of every month. However, I also understand that if the money and the demand is there then they have every right to capitalize on it. I do wish they would do a better job of match making on the fights. It seems here lately the better fights are the ones that are not shown on the PPV card. I will definately be rooting for Randy Coture tonight. I understand he has really been working on his stand up game...I hope it pays off for him tonight.

Complain about the next card, not this one.

You give the UFC shit about mismatches, last one I can think of was CroCop/Sanchez, which was recent, but other then that, nothing too outrageous comes to mind. Now you started this by bashing the UFC, and I know from other threads you like Pride better, so lets look at prides last few cards.

Nog Vs Soukoudjou (sp?) Ok, huge upset, but still 27-1 odds in favor of Nog, give me a break.

Fedor vs Coleman, Fedor vs Zulu.

Lytle has a much better chance against Hughes than all of those guys.

Babalu - Lambert isnt a mismatch, Babalu is definetly the favorite, but lamberts not a bad fighter.

Sure Hughes and Franklin are favorites, their the champs, Lytle has way better standup than Hughes, he has a chance to win, and McDonald is better on the ground than Franklin, apparently, who knows, I still think Franklin and Hughes win, I'd like couture to win, but I know Sylvia is a huge challenge.

This card isnt shit, Franklin, Hughes, Couture, Sylvia, Babalu, Up and Comer Fitch, J-Mac.

How much more do you want on a card, their putting out PPV's every month and this is the card you get, you should be rolling around shitting yourself theres so many huge names on this card.

69 is kinda disapointing in that GSP will murder Serra, but Diego/Kos is a real interesting fight, the rest is pretty crappy though, but im nto defending that one.

Plus if your watching it for free, what do you have to complain about, I too could watch it for free, I'm not though, cause im gonna watch it with friends.

Lay off Pride's nuts for a bit, there both very very good orgs, dont just bash UFC cause it is/was the cool thing to do, like em both because they are both fucking great.

yeah, doesnt look all that great. the only fight i some what want to watch is franklin vs mcdonald. other than that the card is somewhat garbage. the reason that the ufc blows is probably because the rednecks, betting, and the fact that ufc is prides poop in the toilet. i'm not a fan of the ufc's cards.
they will have good fighters then bad fighters and only like two matches you actually want to see. and if i hear booing, whitch i will hear i'm personally going to go to las vegas and smash some peoples faces in with a brick. if people ever did jj they wouldnt be doing that annoying shit. and thats the difference between pride and ufc. ufc is basically the redneck kids doing backyard wrestling .

I wouldn't go that far Clooneytkd...

While I get upset with the UFC and some of the match making that goes on I see the same problem in Pride. While I like watching both of them and can't wait for the day that Pride vs. UFC happens I am still careful not to bash either one to much. I understand the problem of trying to match the best fighters on every card when you are producing a show every freaking month. Thats why I would like to see the UFC go back to 1 show every two or three months. I think Lydel has a very good chance against Matt Hughes and think he will surprise alot of people with how good of a fight he puts up. I will not be surprised if he beats Hughes....I am not saying that is going to happen but I will not be surprised if it does.

SamuraiGuy: I understand what you are saying to... I am not complaining about this card... because overall it is a good card. You are right there are some big names on this card... I still stand by what I said earlier about the earlier fights on the card have been some of the better fights as of late. My main complaint is that they do not show all the fights... If I pay $54.00 to watch them at my house then I think they should show all the fights.

i mean im not against the ufc, i'm going to watch it tonight but sometimes there will be matches that are horrible, sometimes at a standstill. then the crowd boo's because there idiots. 95% percent of the time pride matches are generally exciting so much more so than ufc fights. with that said there have been some great ufc fights like sanchez and perisain. but the qulity is off an on. and as for it being on every month, the ufc has plenty of cash to put some really good fights together they just choose not to. plus, i think zuffa owns another fighting company. they love there product placement more than fights.

I agree Samurai. but its not so much the mismatches that are upsetting its just that the few fights that are broadcasted usually turn out lackluster. Hell, they even managed to turn the last Cro Cop fight to an un-interesting bout.

Whatever though, UFC has a great fighters too, but the show that they put on isnt nearly as good as Pride's. thats all. Enough of this ufc vs pride talk.

                Couture will win IMO.

Hey, I'm just excited that I found somewhere to watch the fight that isn't a strip club! I thought ahead this time and made reservations. Only $10 cover, nobody blocking the screen and no 2-drink minimum!

Just in case anyone is looking for a place to watch the UFC fights in the future...Here in Waco Buffalo Wild Wings Shows it for a $3.00 cover. I think most of them show all the UFC's... the only thing is that you have to get there like 2 hours early or you will not get in.

I agree Clooneytkd... I hate hearing the crowd boo the fighters. That really annoys the hell out of me. I know when I was competing in some local NHB fights back in the late 1990's and 2000 and 2001 that I would hear guys booing the fights before mine and it always made me want to run out and fight them. Most people have no idea what it takes to step into the ring...the time you put in on the mat and injuries you fight through and all the other stuff that goes along with it. I personally think it is because over here the general public does not have a clue when it comes to fighting.

Yeah!!!!! Couture won! I didnt think it was mismatch really but Couture was really impressive.

Im so pissed Babalu lost. It was just bad strategy again. He walked towards Lambert with his hand down looking to shoot and he got clipped.... Lambert is a fat **** who got lucky.

Matt Hughes' performance was boring as hell. Snooze fest. Lay n pray.

                        Franklin fight was good.

Kampmann/Mcfedreis fight was good, but not that compelling.

Up until the main event, the show sucked but Couture's victory turned everything around.

                        WAR COUTURE!!!!!!!!!

If you go on the UFC website, I forget the exact link but you can see a list of all the bars that are airing it. I found one that took reservations so you can just show up when you want and they save you a seat.

Couture still has it. I was impressed.

                          I enjoyed watching Matt Hughes.
