    lol.....

he's so closed minded its sickening.....

      Hawk,

I believe you when you say that Royce comes across differently in interviews.

I guess we just disagree about the broken foot thing. The foot isnt the strongest part of the body and repeated strikes to the foot always run the risk of breaking it.

As always, I respect your opinion Hawk.

        Thanks Andreh,
I feel the same about you. By the way, how is Oleg's movie career coming along? I finally saw a very brief shot on the movie he made with Deniro. Looks like there will be a lot of action. Wish him the best for me.

some food for thought: Royce Gracie's short standard replies remind me of Jackie Chan's short standard replies (ie. Q: what is the different between you and Bruce Lee? A: he kick high, i kick...). Jackie Chan's answers are short and rehearsed, especially to the questions that have been asked a million times b4, because he is not a master in english. he is fluent, but can definitely express his thoughts in more detail in chinese. i wonder if this might b the case with Mr. Gracie. a portugeuse interview might be different.

              Royce?????????

All right I've heard enough!!!And you know what happends when MA hears enough

From what i saw of the fight Sak A-L-M-O-S-T had the knee-bar for barely a second.Sakaraba is not going to make Royce tap.Royce saying that he wouldnt change up his game is narrow-minded and all the years of Rorion saying "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the best art."

Royce needs to TAKE OFF THE GI!-!-!-! Work HARD on his Stand up game and go for ***Damn double leg takedown. But of course its easy for all of us to sit hear and say Royce should do this Royce should do that but in reality,Saying it is the only easy part.

Gotta respect Hawk's opinion on the broken foot thing.

For the record, I think Royce fought a magnificent fight but was just over-matched. Even Bas Rutten and Mo Smith were impressed by Royce's spirit. In some ways it was his finest moment.

It's too bad he comes across like such a sour-puss in his interviews.

I don't expect Royce to have a crisis of faith over his family art. Sak fought his game. Royce can't punch but neither can Sak. Sak could never knock out Royce or do serious damage. I really think what Sak did to Renzo was a fluke. Sak did that same move to Royce and it did nothing.

You can see Renzo was aggresive and tried to spin out of it and they can be both seen spinning and that weird twist prior to landing basically sealed Renzo's fate.

Royce has to sharpen his striking skills because if he ever faced Igor, Igor will take his head off if Royce tried to do that jab.

Renzo actually did better until he got his arm messed up.

                    Gents,

A 'wise' defend poster, Cooter, has told me that this whole interview is a cleverly constructed TROLL action.

If so, you certainly have to give the creator credit - taking the time to solicit pre-interview questions...

If so, too, I fell for it hook, line & sinker.

So mucho credit for the simulation interview.

                      Oh my God!

                      This was a troll?

LOL! This has to be the most brilliant troll in troll history! I wondered why he used so many of my questions! It was just like a real Royce interview, down to the paranoia and bad English!

Check out my "John Matua interview".

I'm going to have to go with Cooter, based on a pretty solid record here.

                            Outstanding, though!

Why the double standard? Royce definitely sounds like a sore loser but in the comparable, much more popular "sport" of boxing this goes on all the time. Its just part of the game, of portraying a certain attitude. I honestly don't think Royce believes everything he said in that interview. When was the last time you heard a boxer (after a loss) say "I was outclassed, he beat me senseless, I had no defence or offence". Its always I slipped, he caught me with a lucky punch, etc etc. Its just part of maintaining an image.

I agree with everyone that it would be better for him to be humble and accept his failings but I don't blame him for saying what he did nor do I think we should take it literally.

                                Hawk,

Yeah, I don't know about Royce and his interviews. I think he sometimes tries a little too hard to be the stereotypical "tough guy". He not. He's naturally a laidback, soft spoken, shy guy... who can kick ass (lol).

It sometimes frustrates me when he gets into that mode. Oh well.
