  • jj machado x kauro uno

just got my limited addition ADCC DVD with unseen fights (supposedly). jj machado is SO impressive looking. he made uno look like a beginner from start to finish, lot's of action. must say uno had some nice escapes before finally getting tapped.

the other fights on the DVD were fairly boring. not quite sure why frank trigg thought he beat renzo, I guess because he sat in his guard for the whole fight and tried over powering renzo??

renzo/trigg... boring??? i would imagine it being technically exciting watching renzo "handle" a very strong and talented fighter like trigg...

I'm a huge renzo fan, but that fight was just plain boring. trigg seemed happy in the guard, not really sure how he was thinking he'd win, didn't do anything but use forearm power to renzo's neck and such. renzo did handle him fairly easily, although was never close to a submission.

which brings me to a point, if this is a "submission" grappling event, why are people like trigg in it who obviously know nothing about submissions?? I guess the wrestlers just want to wait it out and win on a takedown or something? lame.

                here are my other reviews:

                arona x barklaev = funny

                ortiz x sato = ok

                robinson x morais = interesting

all in all, way too much stand up dancing around.

Just got my copy. I also found most of the fights pretty boring. Couldn't they find other fights with more action?

JJ Machado did look very impressive. Since it was a final maybe Uno was spent at that point but I'm just guessing. JJ handled him EASILY.

Only get this CD if you're a real grappling fan.

I just got mine also. It's not the greatest, but still worth the money.

My bud lent me a copy of Abu Dhabi 98, and it was one of the best tapes I've ever seen.

Whoever edited the tape did a great job. All the matches were shown from lightweight to absolute, but you didn't have to watch all the stalling. Secondly, the commntary was english.

I've seen unedited Abu dhabi's and most matches bore the sh!t out of me. I'd like to find out who produced the edited tape..
