  • To catch a kick, then break the ankle

If there were some method(s) of breaking joints and/or bones (preferably the ankle/foot region) in conjunction with catching kicks (as a defensive counter), please explain it or tell where I can learn it. thanks

There are ways to do this but it is difficult and hard on an experienced fighter. Your average Joe on the street is not going to kick. It will be easier to do an ankle lock and then not let go.

Qin Na - a Chinese style of grappling and joint locking teaches moves like this, I think. So does jujitsu and hapkido/hwarangdo.

there are a few that i know of and can explain,

one technique is called " breaking the elephants tusk" in thai, if im correct. assuming you know how to properly catch a kick and shut its power off before it reachers full power, you can catch the kick and deliver a downward elbow strike to the knee joint, a little about the knee.

the most basic is catching the kick muay thai style, cutting its power short, and then falling right back into an achilies lock.

also, you can catch a kick and deliver a kick to the supporting leg, at the knee joint. may not break it, but it will hurt and it will take him down.
