Biographies aside...These off topic personal questions I think are more suited to PM's?

Sweet knife Dick. Small easily concealed and just big enough to get the job done.

that ones just to play with. i usually carry way bigger, fully serrated blades for SD. for SD i like the spyderco MILITARY and d'allara, endura/endura wave and the large Cold Steel voyagers.

i prefer smaller knives as well for overall carry, i cary bigger ones only for for SD.

I prefer smaller knives for SD myself. The reason is because alot of knife fighting is slight of hand and thats hard to do with a bigger knife. I prefer something that mt assailant might not see. Suprise is a big advantage in an SD situation in my opinion.

But those are all top notch knives.

...one of my old trainers, Sakasem "punisher" Kwathawong, an ex-Lumpinee stadium champ...with over 400 ring fights in muay thai....
used to walk around with a knife.

Most of the JKD guys I know concealed carry permits and are sometimes strapped with handguns.

                    ...
                    notice a trend?

The problem I have with most weapons is the lack of versatility. You can't ALWAYS have them EVERYWHERE you go.

One of my instructors did address this praticular problem though. Because he flies (often overseas to countrie's with stricter rules than the US about what can and can't be brought with him) most weapons are completly useless.

His solution: he carries a pencil with him - you know the First Grader extra big kind? Essentialy it works the same way as a yawara/kubotan, so as long as you've trained with one before, it makes a pretty effective weapon.
