This has to be the worst main event ever. who has ever heard of pairing 2 guys who both lost there last match at ufc 71 in first round knockouts against each other in the mainevent of a pay-per-view this is gunna be a horrible pay per view.. there is one good fight the Maurico "shugun" Rua vs. Forest griffin that outa be better than the mainevent. i will probiably not purchace this payperview and if i do it will not be because of the main event it will be because of the rua-griffin fight..wut does everyone else think about this main event?

With every PPV, UFC is adhering more and more to the casual ultimate fighting fan.
Good fight. I'm not sure Jardine quite has the tools to beat Chuck, but I think it'll be a good fight.

im not saying its a bad card or a bad fight i just think its a bad main event. the mainevent should be a match that should hold implications for a title or help move someone into a title shot. i had no problem at ufc 760 when there was no title fight but atleast there was a fight that meant something to the title with the gonzaga-crocop fight. I sure hope the ufc isnt planning on giving the winner of this fight another shot for the title because that would be putting to losers up against each other and giving the winner a title shot. they are both great fighters but i sure hope they are not going to get a title shot though until they win a few more fights.

Almost everything -- all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.

While they should have got a more deserving opponent for Chuck Liddell like Sokoudjou, Lil Nog, or Arona (they should have picked up Sokoudjou, instead they offered him 20K to fight which he turned down and now K1 or Elite XC is offering him like 200K.), this card has some other really great fights like
Shogun vs Griffen (thats gonna be a really competitive fight) ofcoarse. I really dont think Shogun's hands and his defense with them are that great. Forrest could catch him there, and Shogun doesnt have the best takedowns either but it may be good enough to get the job done. He also wont be able to use his soccer kick/stomp series which is what he's best at. I just hope he submits Griffen, that would be so crazy, but still, you know the whole crowd is gonna BOO no matter what
Jon Fitch vs Diego Sanchez, is a crazy matchup. I see Fitch winning this one. Standing-----Fitch Ground------- Sanchez
Tyson Griffen vs Thiago Tavares (tyson actually lost against Guida in their last fight in Belfast Ireland UFC 72, but it was in Ireland so the UFC could make the judges do whatever they wanted and Tyson got the decision, great fight though), is gonna be another one of those high paced, action and scramble packed 3 round wars most likely, i cant wait till that one. Tavares shut down Jason Black in every aspect of the game. I think Tavares has the better Muay Thai so he'll be keeping it on the feet and if Tyson takes him down, he's really good there too.
Also, Evan Tanner is gonna fight. Its a good PPV event. Also, its gonna be back to back with other UFC PPVs

Are you an idiot? You think Griffin's striking is better than Shoguns'?????? While they MIGHT be on the same level(That's not to say, however, that they are the same within that level, rather that it's not a complete washout) Griffin is certianly the inferior striker. And Shogun's hands aren't that good? You must stop while you're far, far behind noob.
I can't disagree with the Fitch/Sanchez fight. All that training with De La Hoya hasn't done too much for him.
I give it to Tavares, but Griffin is nasty. And by the way, you shouldn't make such easily debated statements. I think Guida lost that fight, though it was a great one.
