It's amazing to me how many people in the mma community jumped on the Gonzaga bandwagon after his fight with Mirko. He got lucky in that fight. If Mirko and he were to fight ten times, Mirko would probably win 8 or 9 times. As for Gonzaga tapping Randy, Randy went dead even in a submission grappling match with Jacare and Gonzaga is NO Jacare. Last but not least, conditioning is 75-80% of a fight and it doesn't take 20/20 vision to look at those two and determine who was in shape to go 5x5 min rounds. I'm so glad Randy was able to shut all of you up.
In closing, I thought it was funny how people kept talking about 'wrestling pedigrees' as if wrestling ability remains constant throughout one's lifetime and then GSP was able to take Josh down and stuff a takedown attempt at a key point in the fight. Wrestling is wrestling, wrestling is NOT mma. Josh may've had great td's & td defense in h.s. and college, but he's working with the same 24hr day, 7 day week that every other mma fighter is working with. In order to be a top level mma athlete, he (just like everyone else) has to divide his time up between the different disciplines in order to be competitive. As a result, his td and td defense will suffer. J~
