I took Krav Maga and muay Thai / MMA

and in my openion a well trained MMA fighter could beat the crap out of most traditional martial artist.

Nah, man... You obviously have not idea about Wolverine. The guy can survive with his head torn off. He's a killing machine; and has gone toe-to-toe with the Hulk. I'm not talking about the X-men cartoons here; read the books. Wolverine is more cunning, stronger, vicious and just too bad ass for Batman. No contest... Wolvie 10/10 on this one.

He's althletic, acrobatic and skilled in wushu... However, weighed against his lack of fighting experience, lack of realistic training and mental preparation for mma, Jet Li would get crushed...

But, let's say he trains MMA with a top gym (he's got money) for several months. I could see him winning some decisions against cans, but not UFC vets.

Not to mention the guy is in his fifties.
Just for the sake of argument chuck Norris and van damm are the only Martial arts stars that have any real fighting experience. All the othe others were just performers, doing choreographed sceens, or spent worthless hours punching and kicking at inanimant objects in th air. WORTHLESS.
Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li just actors. It's hard to hard to do the flying tiger, sleeping dragon, or in inch punch, while Tito Ortiz is sitting on your chest, doing the ground and pound on your face
Even those bald headed guys in the oranges robes, would be beat down easily in the UFC.
Now that doesn't count that bad ass, Muay Thai guy, with the funny name.

A friend of mine did a fight scene with Jet Li in one of his movies and stated to me that "Jet Li can not fight!"

Based on his opinion and other things I've heard, I'd have to say he would do very poorly in the UFC.

I dunno about UFC but I lost money on him vs Riggs in Lethal Weapon 4. That fight was fixed I tell ya!

Jet Li and all the others like Jackie, Chuck, Jean Claude they are all ACTORS, not fighters, there is a HUGE difference there. Unless thes actors trained for such an event none of them would be able to handle a half way skilled mma fighter let alone someone from the UFC.The fact of the matter is that Jet Li is a good martial artist and actor but as far as I know he's never fought in a cage, for real.
